Tom Merricks hamstring routine Posted: 29 Dec 2020 04:22 AM PST I've previously used Tom Merricks hamstring routine found here --> ( https://youtu.be/Z9diEcFCFME ) with some success. The routine consists of: Straight leg swings Calf + hamstring stick drill (self massage) Sciatic nerve glides Calf pnf Hamstring pnf Jefferson curls I am thinking about replacing the Jefferson curl with a Romanian deadlift or good morning. This is because my hamstrings are very tight. I am not even able to sit up straight in a seated pike and am concerned that alot of the load will just be going onto my lower back which is already a little vulnerable. Does anyone have any thoughts on this modification to the routine. Should it still be effective? [link] [comments]

How far can I get with my hips and dynamic frog pose? Posted: 29 Dec 2020 01:34 AM PST I'm following the Antranik splits routine and have been doing only that for a month now. I didn't start from nothing so I had decently open hips to start with. m/20 btw. My issue is with the frog pose (sliding back and forth). I haven't really made progress in a week or so. It started out feeling amazing, but lately it started hurting only at the point furthest back. It's not a muscular or pulling pain, it honestly feels like bone or cartilage hitting each other on the outside of my hip joints. The pain doesn't last, as soon as I leave the position it's gone. Am I still going to make progress with this stretch or is that it? Should I reduce frequency to once a week to let the cartilage heal? Curious to hear other people's experiences. Kickboxing - Good stretches to improve flexibility and open up the hips Posted: 28 Dec 2020 05:35 PM PST What would be the go-to stretches to improve flexibilty and open up the hips? My flexibilty is something I want to work on as certain moves (such as a side kick and general high kicks) are very difficult/near impossible for me to do at the moment. Recently, I've made it a point to stretch everyday but how long and often should I be stretching each day? [link] [comments]
How to Measure Progress (Photos or Measurements) - Beginner Starting to Stretch Posted: 28 Dec 2020 11:40 AM PST I have just started the "Starting To Stretch" full-body flexibility program. I want to be able to establish a routine where I take some kind of measurement or photo once per month to measure my progress. Can you please recommend what type of measurement or photos I could take that will serve to show progress like this over time? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]

How do I figure out where to put my feet? (duck feet) Posted: 28 Dec 2020 02:11 PM PST Hey Redditors, I've had duck feet since I was a kid but years ago I tried correcting it by forcing my feet straight forward and now my posture has been completely destroyed by that. My hips are misaligned and my back hurts. I've had a doctor look at it and confirm it's just how I naturally am. I'm trying to reset and go back to my original duck feet posture but I'm not sure how to place my feet so it's aligned anymore. Is there something I can do to measure that my hips are where they're supposed to be? Thank you [link] [comments]

30 Days Accountability Partner? Posted: 28 Dec 2020 03:16 PM PST Hey everyone! first of all, this is my first post to this subreddit so I have no idea if this counts as "duplicate content". Please let me know if it is and I'll take it down. Also is there a thread specifically for accountability partner search? But basically I've been trying to get my splits for years but have never actually committed for more than 2 weeks. I'm wondering if anyone's having the same problem and/or is willing to be my accountability partner for a month (we will basically motivate and remind each other to stretch) and share our progress.
