| If you are tired/ not in the mood for your practice what do you do? Posted: 29 Jan 2021 04:17 AM PST Hello, ashtangis! I'm a baby practitioner and noticed that I struggle with practicing on the same time each day due to tiredness and mood-swings. I understand that a big part of yoga has to do with self-observation through those emotional ups and downs but keeping it consistent isn't always easy. Am I missing the benefits of ashtanga if I modify my practice/ skip a day? How do you deal with that? Thank you! [link] [comments] | ||||||||||||
| Posted: 28 Jan 2021 05:15 PM PST Hi Ashtangis, I was reading Light On Yoga by B.K.S. Iyengar and I noticed that he had a difficulty rating for each posture. He gave each posture a difficulty rating between 1 and 60, where 1 is the easiest, and 60 is the hardest. I thought it would be cool to map out each of the first three ashtanga series and see what the average difficulty and peak postures were for each series. I wasn't able to find all of the postures in his book, but I averaged what I found. (All of the postures that I didn't find were excluded.) Findings
