    Back Stuff

    Posted: 18 Jan 2021 01:46 AM PST

My back flexibility has decrease with my age. Which I believe to be normal with age, but when I try to regain some of that flexibility, it seems like it's making my back tighter. Am I doing something wrong or is that a part of the process??

Back strengthening exercises have been paying off!

As per ancient yogic texts "YOG" is all about union. And for that, it's very necessary we relax and observe. Meditation is the best way forward but this session is for those who are still a few steps away from embracing meditation and need something similar in form of asanas.

Hi guys! I (18F) am a beginner at all this, can't even touch my toes, and I would like to eventually be able to do handstands, the splits, etc.

What routine do I follow to be able to do this kind of stuff eventually?

    Thank you!

Cant put load on left leg

    Posted: 17 Jan 2021 06:01 PM PST

For 2 months I've been trying to fix/recover a problem where I cant put and load on my left leg.

    Thinking I've got hamstring tendinopathy.

I've gone from stretching, foam rolling and proper warm up to no stretching, rest etc.

I had 8 days off from any exercise But every time I get back in to squatting or deadlifting it comes back and cant put load or if I do its very little and hinders my gym lifts.

If I do a bodyweight squat I get a big stretch/tear feeling in my glute/high hamstring area.

when doing a single leg squat as soon as i get a little bit down my hamstring is in pain and weak

When deadlifting the injury can stop me from lifting any weight off the ground like my glute/hamstring wont let me pick it up.

Has anyone had something like this. missing lifting heavy.

Hi guys. I am relatively new to flexibility and as a first goal (so that I don’t get bored) I want to stretch out my hamstrings and reach a full forward fold. The pic is what I am right now...how long do you think it would take reach that first goal?

    MyFlex alternativw for poor people?

    Posted: 17 Jan 2021 12:23 PM PST

As the title says! I follow MyFlex, and it looks like an incredible and structured membership. I'd love to be able to try it out one day, but could never justify the costs.

Has anyone tried or could recommend alternatives that are still tailored to the stretcher? I'm quite prone to injury, so would appreciate having some coaching.

    Thanks in advance!

Why I Think Learning Skills > Bodybuilding | Why I Switched

    Posted: 17 Jan 2021 06:45 AM PST

Hey guys, created this video to explain why I think that learning skills > bodybuilding and the reasons why I switched from doing bodybuilding workouts to developing skills in movement training.

In the video I talk about people who focus mainly if not solely on bodybuilding, I know some people who mix between building skills and bodybuilding, this group of people aren't suffering from the lack of functionality as much.

Is there anyone else in this thread who went through a similar process? would love to hear your reasons why and when you switched and to what type of practice.

The only exercises I've ever really enjoyed are gymnastics and ariel hoop but I haven't been able to do them since lockdown started and now I'm pregnant and sad that I'll never get flexible again

Need help regain flexibility despite long hours in manual labor.

    Posted: 17 Jan 2021 07:03 AM PST

Been trying to get my body limber, so I can start running and kicking the way I could 10 years ago.

Only thing is, my body just screams and threatens me with a lot of pain anytime I try to do anything I used to do, routine wise.

I've tried intaking more water with electrolytes, cold compresses and warm bathes, non static stretches, the works. No progress, just more soreness

    Any help would be appreciated

Here's a 15-min yoga practice to stretch out a stiff back!

It's funny how better physical balance helps better mental balance, better focus and better concentration. Probably that's why sages in ancient Indian scriptures do austere prayers in balancing asanas esp Tree pose.
