Hip stretches for males to improve sex life?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 11:00 AM PDT

I apologize if this is inappropriate. I'm too embarrassed to ask this of people in my real life so I thought this might be a helpful place instead. I'm getting older and my mobility is decreasing. I was hoping to start practicing stretches that would useful for improving performance while partaking in husband wife activities. We don't do anything crazy, but I'd like to learn increased motion, particularly in the hips. Are there any particular exercises I can start working on to improve motions that would enhance sex activities?

Has anyone got any stretches to help with premature ejaculation?

    Posted: 31 Mar 2021 03:59 AM PDT

Sorry if this is a bit much for this sub but it's just that stretching has massively helped me in so many other areas in my life that I feel it could be able to help me here too. Basically I finish really quick in bed, like really quick.

There's so much bs on other subs about this too and none of it seems to work.

If anyone has stretches or anything else that cured it for them I would love to know.

    Thanks everyone.

How long did you guys stretch before you saw/ felt meaningful progress?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 09:00 PM PDT

I have recently started stretching regularily by doing antranik's toe touching routine on the pinned post (that is so far the only stretching routine I have). I can already touch my toes so the vague progression I have in my head is toe touching -> palm to floor -> standing pike and eventually front splits. I fully realize that Im not pushing myself as much as I probably should so I have set vague timeline for splits by the end of next year. So I wanted to know how it was for you guys when you were starting out or when you started working towards something new.

    Efficient back bend programs?

I really like the splits routine in the "don't know where to start" post at the top. Does anyone know of anything similar for back bends ?

A Great Back & Shoulder Stretch

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 09:48 PM PDT

    1. Lay face down, right arm out and flat.
    2. Take left leg and put it behind your back
    3. do for about 10-15 seconds each side

If you want a visual representation of this it's the first stretch in this video

What other back and shoulder stretches do you like to do that help with stiffness?

Help with lower back/outer glute tightness

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 08:56 PM PDT

I'm working on overall flexibility but feeling the most tightness where my lower back meets my glutes. I really feel it in pigeon or double pigeon and can't seem to make progress in these poses. Any suggestions on warmup/activations and other stretches to help loosen this area?

Extremely inflexible - should I focus on flexibility before strength training?

    Posted: 30 Mar 2021 12:34 PM PDT

I'm 27/m and in high school I was pretty active with sports as well as just goofing around as a kid. I stayed fairly active after graduating, but definitely not as much as I wish I was. In 2019 I got a job working in IT, so I was no longer lifting heavy items for customers like in my previous jobs, but I still went on hikes and occasional jogs. Ever since Covid hit, I have become completely sedentary and I want to change that.

I tried gauging what my strength is like now, and I'm not terrible when it comes to lifting stuff once, but my muscles have almost no endurance, so it's hard doing something for long rep ranges or doing a static hold for a long period of time.

On top of my weak muscles, I have always been inflexible. Always had issues lifting my leg while keeping it straight, or staying in a proper squat.

I attempted doing the Starting Stretch today, and it was really difficult holding position after doing the bounces. I feel like my weakest point right now are my hips/lower back. The most annoying thing is when I try to do the pancake and butterfly, I physically cannot keep a straight back without placing hands on the ground behind me, and even then my arms get too tired to hold it long enough.

I understand that inflexible muscles are weak muscles, and you should strengthen them along with stretching to gain flexibility, but I am worried that if I start lifting the way I am now, that I will hurt myself.

So should I try to power through the Starting Stretch routine before starting strength training? Or maybe there's a better flexibility routine for people like me?

tl;dr My muscles are weak and it's hard to do Starting Stretch. It feels impossible for me to do the pancake and butterfly without rounding my back. I want to start lifting weights, but worried I would injure myself due to inflexibility. Should I continue to do Starting Stretch(or a different routine) before strength training? Or should I do both at the same time?
