    Deep Squat and Homo Sapiens

    Posted: 26 Mar 2021 08:56 PM PDT

I'm 31 and have basically never done a deep squat. Recently got into stretching and flexibility as a way to help low back pain and starting to practice deep squat.

The only way I can do a deep squat is too hold on to something and that too takes so much strength from upper body (to hold on and not fall). Can barely make it to 2 minutes.

Got me wondering how "damaging" modern life is. Homo sapiens evolved to sit like this but modern life completely disabled a once natural and common ability. Anyone else ever think about that? Also anyone else who had so much difficulty to deep squat but eventually succeeded ? At this rate feels like I'll take a couple of years to get there lol.

How do I train for over splits and eventually getting the middle splits cold?

    Posted: 26 Mar 2021 01:13 PM PDT

Hello, I just got my middle splits and I was wondering how I can build to to eventually get it cold. Also, how can I progress into less and less of a warm up for the splits? Thank you

    HELP !

    Posted: 26 Mar 2021 11:46 AM PDT

I HAVE LOST MY back WALKOVER. I used to do it all the time but i haven't had time to stretch due to school and work and now I lost my back flexibility. I can still do a back bend and go to elbows. How do I regain it back. It makes me sad.

Slight pain in left leg when attempting middle splits

    Posted: 26 Mar 2021 09:49 AM PDT

Hi. So 5 years ago I used to train a lot in flexibility and I achieved my middle splits in 1 month. I stopped stretching for 5 years after an injury not related to middle splits... then I started again 2 weeks ago and I see little progress compared to before. And something that is worrying me is the pain I feel in my left leg. Idk which muscle is it but I feel it only when I open my legs wide againts a wall and try to keep my knees straight, and whenever I try to do the middle splits. When I open my legs wide but keep my left knee bended, I don't feel that pain. On the other leg I can stretch it nicely without that type of pain and keeping my knee straight. I'm scared it might be an injury and It won't let me achieve my splits. But I haven't had any injury... also my leg is not swollen and it doesn't hurt when I do any other activity but stretching with the middle splits...moreover, I feel a very slight sensation after I finish stretching and I rest, in that leg, is not painful it is very very subtle. What should I do? I Stopped training for 3 days and started again today, I still feel this pain whenever I try to get some progress with this leg because the other leg can stretch beyond this one with no pain...
