    My favorite stretch

Wheel Progression! Feeling so much more open although it doesn't look much different. So grateful to have discovered back bending to get relief from the tough times in life.

I feel like we should all give user/LilyJeanette/ some love

All the crazy cool handstand and flexibility videos we've (I guess I should only speak for myself) been so inspired over this past month were their personal intellectual property and stolen from their Instagram — a really shitty thing to have happened.

Interesting techniques to unlock hip flexors

    Posted: 04 Mar 2021 05:58 PM PST

I haven’t stretched in years! Not actively set time aside to stretch at least. After two babies, I need to get back to it, but not bad for the first back bend in a while. Looking for simple quick stretch routines to fit into a busy lifestyle?

Is pain in the rib cage normal after trying to do a needle?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2021 04:37 PM PST

I injured my back yesterday while attempting to get my needle(back pain has become the norm for me- it tends to go away quickly) but today my entire rib cage hurts and is sore to touch. Has this happened to anyone before? Will it heal on its own or is it something serious?

What Should I Add to My Splits Routine?

So I'm working on my side splits, and my usual routine comprises low lunges, hamstring stretches, couch stretches and splits. Holding each for about 3x30 seconds. While I'm stretching my splits themselves, I'm trying to keep my hips square and usually pulling myself up out of them with muscular tension to ensure that my hips are square.

But I feel like I've plateaued a bit. How do I get that last few inches?

Relatively flexible, but can't hinge my hips to save my life. Any tips for progressing pancake and releasing the hips?

Is there a way to test if my lower back is tight?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2021 11:34 AM PST

I'm pretty sure I have anterior pelvic tilt. And that usually means weak abs, weak glutes, tight hip flexors, and tight lower back. And also sometimes weak hip flexors and lower back.

I've been trying to work on these, and at this point I think I've earned the right to ask which of these things I actually still suffer from. What weak link or links have made it so I still have anterior pelvic tilt. There are tests for most of these things, but what about lower back?

    Forward fold feels wrong?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2021 08:49 AM PST

As far as I know, you're supposed to feel a forward fold in your hamstrings, but for some reason I mainly feel it in my calves and lower erector spinae. I think it has to do with my knees and feet being turned out, but I have no idea how to correct this. Any tips?

    Time efficient routine?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2021 08:01 AM PST

I enjoy going to the gym and not really sure what would be the most efficient way to stretch. I dont really have any flexibility goals, just want to avoid injuries and conserve my natural mobility. I already tend to stretch as I warm up but these are mostly randomly selected movements that I feel losen me up for doing squats/bench/DL/etc...

I'm quite impacient but I also know I can develope good habits if I feel like I know what im doing. I would Ideally do 5-10 min of stretching preworkout as part of my warm up routine(5-6 times per week)
