When I settle into savasana and the internal chatter begins

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 04:50 PM PDT

Wanted to share as I am still working up the confidence to post a COMP. Today was my 80th day in a row of Yoga and I took 2 full breathes in Crow!

Thank you to this group for the inspiration to grow a daily and more challenging practice!

    Coming Back to Yoga

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 12:47 PM PDT

About one year ago, I went from daily yoga for about four years to absolutely no yoga at all.

During all of the conversations about race and really getting into my internal self, I felt so weird practicing. I tried to educate myself about the aspects of yoga that I have never thought about (I was still more educated about it than the average white person since I practiced so long), and I ended up hating it and feeling like it wasn't something I should be doing, so I quit.

I want to start again, but to those of you who have been through something similar, what made you go back to your mat? Should I even start again?

Questions: Plow pose (Halasana) and Eagle Pose (Garudasana)

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 04:51 PM PDT

Hi all! I've been practicing yoga daily for two years now and I always seem to have a bit of trouble with these two poses. Firstly, Halasana. I love it so much and really settle into the stretch after 2 breaths but the level my diaphragm is restricted is uncomfortable, is there a way to help this? Secondly, Garudasana - this may be a body type issue more than anything but I though I would ask. I'm quite petite (a bit under 5'2") and I find it so difficult to hook my foot behind my calf in this pose. One side is a bit easier than the other but I cannot wrap my foot fully on either side. Question: what flexibility is needed in this pose? I really enjoy a reclining eagle supine twist so I'd like to be able to do it properly. Thanks in advance!

    Yoga & running

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 05:38 AM PDT

    Hello

I want to do yoga and run, both, in the morning. Is there any specific order I should follow? I can't decide if I should run first or do yoga first (if there's any particular reason one should be done first)

What do y'all use to keep track of your progress?

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 10:34 AM PDT

I'm wanting to keep track of my progress with videos and pictures, but haven't found a nice way to do it. Are there any apps you all use which helps you track progress?

Should your yoga plan be similar to a gym week?

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 08:19 AM PDT

I've just started doing yoga frequently and occurred to me whether or not I should work different body parts on different days like in the gym you'd do chest days etc? Is there such thing as too much stretching ha?

Is this Rountine any good? I like the Guy but I'd like to hear what other people think.

I really like Antranik because he helped me getting into Bodyweightfitness but I wonder if this is actually considered "good" yoga. I have mild scoliosis and there is a lot of back arching going on there. I feel good afterwords but I wondered if there is better stuff out there.

    Yoga with music?

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 01:42 AM PDT

Hi, I'm looking for some yoga routines on YouTube that have really good music I can get lost in along with minimal prompts to follow a yoga routine. I'm having trouble finding such a thing - can anyone help please? I love yoga with Adrienne and also with Kassandra but sometimes I'd like to focus on music instead of the instructor's voice. I'd say I'm an intermediate yogi so don't need tons of explanation of each pose. Thank you.

Are there any poses/asanas Yoga With Adrienne doesn't cover?

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 06:02 AM PDT

I'm trying to learn as many asanas as I can and am wondering if there would be gaps in my knowledge primarily using her as a resource.

How to do side crow on one arm?

    Posted: 21 Mar 2021 04:58 AM PDT

Any pointers on how to progress from balancing on both arms to only one arm in side crow? Should I focus on enlisting the strength in my wrists and arms or in my core, or is it more to do with balance?

    Thank youuu! :))
