    Splits as a teen begginer

    Posted: 15 May 2021 09:15 AM PDT

Hey, i'm 16 yo fit boy wanting to start straching and at some point be able to do splits i did some exercises at the past so i m not really non flexible but I'm nowhere near being flexible. I know it takes a lot time and patinece which is okay but i dont know how to start. I would prefer some yt videos or something that i just can see because vision really helps. There is so much sources so i dont know which one to follow and i dont want to waste so much time reading about it and than get bored as I always do. Thanks!

Is sitting in Seiza bad for the knees?

I like sitting like this as it forces me to have proper posture, but I wonder if it's bad for the knees.

Preventing over-stretching/pulling on tendons and ligaments?

    Posted: 15 May 2021 06:28 AM PDT

I've been stretching for a long time, recently found out I have a connective tissue problem that makes my ligaments and tendons a little too "stretchy". I'm concerned now I've been over-stretching and relying on connective tissue rather than muscle stretch to complete harder moves. Any advice on how to best notice and prevent this? My issue (if you can call it that haha) is that I don't feel any pain while stretching, and immediately back off a stretch if it starts to hurt, like I didn't find out about this disorder bc of problems/pain with flexibility

    Chronic QL pain need help!

    Posted: 15 May 2021 10:49 AM PDT

I have been experiencing left QL pain since 2015, I have approached sports therapists, physiotherapists, and sports massage therapists, doctors regarding this QL issue. I tore my right ACL and dislocated my patella during 2010. During that period of time, I did not really follow the rehabilitation physio exercise because the exercises always cause intense pain and the condition did not improve.

But until today, no one has the answer as to why my muscle is always tight and sometimes spasm. I would seek my sports massage therapist to release this tight QL muscle and also regularly putting heat plasters on this area. I have been told by one sports therapist that my torn right ACL is the reason why my left QL is always tightening up. But she did not understand how to fix this problem.

Anyone here had this situation of tight QL? How did you resolve this tight QL? What muscles did you strengthen to reduce the QL pain?
