Posted: 23 May 2021 02:01 PM PDT A couple days ago I felt like doing some yoga (which I haven't done it in a while) and it just clicked. I see the appeal to yoga, I see now why it is so wonderful. It feels different when you listen to your body but it feels so good. I have been doing yoga everyday since. I definitely found my new hobby. If you have some beginner tips or advice or must know poses, please share! I would love to see what you have to say. Thank you much love! [link] [comments] |

Taught my very first class today - need advice Posted: 23 May 2021 02:06 PM PDT As the title says, I taught my first class today - a vinyasa flow at a gym. It was a very basic flow and I was as prepared as possible (or so I thought). I was doing okay until I started to realize that each student had a varying degree of understanding - next to nothing all the way to doing asanas I couldn't even pull off. When you teach to a group that you are unsure about their levels, how do you instruct? Do you instruct to those who are not as advanced but potentially bore the more advanced yogis OR instruct to the advanced yogis to keep them engaged but potentially exclude any newbies? Maybe there are other options and I am really hoping to hear them. [link] [comments] |
Tips for (re)starting a yoga practice as a busy mom? Posted: 23 May 2021 01:40 PM PDT Hi all! I'm a 31 y.o. new mom who would like to incorporate yoga into my daily life. I'm about 3.5 months postpartum and feeling heavy physically and emotionally. I work part time (30 hours a week), mostly from home, while taking care of my daughter. Outside of work I'm not only occupied by caring for my baby and our home, but spending time with and taking care of my aging parents (my very sick mother, in particular). I used to practice yoga somewhat before I became pregnant, maybe a couple of times a week at most, with some special yoga events or classes mixed in. Sometimes I would take breaks, such as over the summer months when I'd use my free time to go for hikes or long walks. Anyways, I really want to restart a practice, because I know it's what my soul needs. Daily would be ideal, to encourage myself to take even 15 minutes to ground myself and be at peace. It's just tough to get started again with the limited about of time and energy I have. Does anybody have some good tips for getting back into a steady practice? Is there a good video series I could follow or a standard gentle routine I should start with? Any help and encouragement is much appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 May 2021 09:54 AM PDT Hi everyone! Im trying to put together a donation based yoga class through zoom as a fundraiser for cancer research. I'm unsure of how exactly the logistics would work and I need advice if you have any. How could I confirm donations and get the emails of everyone to send out the zoom link? A google form? I've never done this before and I'm really lost here. I'd really appreciate any help you have to offer! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 May 2021 02:40 AM PDT I am pretty sure that there used to be a possibility to download a practice for offline use. I can't find how to do it anymore or how to access the ones that I have already downloaded. I have been using the app for about 10 months now and it was one of the features that made me decide to choose the yearly subscription. Can anyone please help me where to find this feature again? Is Hong Kong's yoga instructor the most highest salary compare to other country? Posted: 23 May 2021 08:49 AM PDT In Hong Kong , yoga is a very popular sports. specially arieal yoga. Compare to USA , Hong Kong is small with huge population. There are huge demand in the yoga market. One of my friend(who teach arieal yoga) told me that she can earn alot. She rent place herself to teach Ariel and mat yoga. Usually arieal yoga charge $20/head and she has about 8 students per class, after decduct the rent fee about $25/hr. He can earn around $135/class. She is hardwoking so maybe she has nearly 20classes per week arieal+mat yoga. She told me that she can earn about 4-5k/momth Besides my fd. Yes in normal studio's teacher can also get maybe avg $25-35 per class I think the population and small place is the reason why Hong Kong's yoga instructor can be the highest income in the compare to other countries? Posted: 23 May 2021 11:56 AM PDT I'm just curious about something, can you share if you "go commando" during yoga classes? Is this advisable or does it violate etiquette? [link] [comments] |
