Which yoga style should I do for most flexibility/stretch? Posted: 19 Jun 2021 02:46 AM PDT So I got into yoga like a month after and I've been using the down dog app and I've been doing the full Practice for 15 minutes plus the 3min starvasana at the end. I really want to work on my flexibility as I pretty much can't touch by toes and when we I try to do the staff then reach my toes I can't really bend forward unless I bend my knees, same with the forward gold exhale I have to bend my knees white a bit. Also still can't really touch my toes but I'm super close too. [link] [comments]

| What are your yoga goals? What are you working towards? Posted: 18 Jun 2021 07:14 PM PDT Hi! I've been really getting into yoga and have been looking for some sort of goals/milestones that I can work towards during my practices. Obviously, the main goal is living a healthier, more balanced life, but I'd love to hear some of the smaller, more measurable goals that you use to keep yourself focused and growing. | Meditation Cushion Shop in London? Posted: 19 Jun 2021 04:51 AM PDT Hi guys, I swear it's like 2 months that I'm looking for a shop that has a different meditation pillow so that I can choose the one that I prefer but I really can't find any. Please Reddit do your thing, halp! thanks! [link] [comments] |
| It's about time I developed the flexibility and mobility my body deserves Posted: 18 Jun 2021 10:03 PM PDT TLDR; years of weightlifting and no stretching made my body very inflexible, and I want to change that. I've been weightlifting for years and never stretched. At this point, even simple stretches are hard to hold, and I'm starting to worry that my inflexibility will have consequences in the future. Also, I'm participating in a meditation retreat soon where I'll need to meditate for hours on end. However, I'm nervous that I won't be able to hold meditation poses for a very long time. So, I'm starting this journey to become more flexible! My goals* 1) Stretch 60 minutes daily until the mediation retreat 2) After the retreat, make a habit of stretching for five to ten minutes before bed, after bed, and after a workout. | Posted: 18 Jun 2021 06:52 PM PDT I am feeling so excited (and a bit self-conscious) because my video was just posted! (I volunteer at an organization where we share content related to mental health and employability) In the video, I do some postures to help with back pain that could easily be done while sitting in front of your desk. Just thought I should share :) (It's all in Spanish tho lol) —> https://www.instagram.com/tv/CQR5aDVgBLi/?utm_medium=copy_link [link] [comments] |
New-ish to yoga: outer hip pain when I am on side Posted: 18 Jun 2021 07:37 PM PDT Hi everyone! I am relatively new to the practice, but have found this consistent issue with most poses on my side. If I am in any side plank type position, but with my hip/legs on the ground, it hurts my hip (not due to injury or strain, just from the pressure of the floor), and I can't complete the exercise. I practice on a mat over a hardwood floor. I do find relief when I grab a sweatshirt and fold it under my hip, but I don't want to rely on this for every side facing pose. Is this something I can fix form-wise, is it just a matter of building more abdominal strength, or is it just me not used to yoga? Hope this makes sense and TIA! [link] [comments]
Tight feeling in my hip creases in some positions? Posted: 18 Jun 2021 05:37 PM PDT Hello everyone! I wanted to ask if this is a normal sensation to have? It happens in Childs pose, Lizard Pose and when I practice for splits. I notice it's worse on my left but it's an uncomfortable tightness? I feel almost restless in child's pose because I can't relax due to the sensation and find I move a lot to avoid that feeling. If anyone has advice I'd love any help! [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Jun 2021 06:43 PM PDT Hello my fellow yogis! I just had a quick question. Does anyone know if yoga can delay your period at all. I started doing yoga ( hot yoga sessions and surrender classes ) about two weeks ago and now my period is 9 days late. I am not pregnant and I'm usually pretty regular with my period so before I start worrying I wanted to ask you all. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Jun 2021 03:16 PM PDT I have been practicing yoga for about a year now very consistently and have fallen in love with it. That being said, I have recently found that there are times where I have this knot or pain in my hip or leg or lower back and all I want to do is work to release it. This most recent time it has been my lower back and left hip where I feel it is so tight and on the verge of releasing but I just can't get it there. It drives me crazy all day and is very uncomfortable in my hips. I love yoga but I'm trying to remind myself of how good it makes me feel because right now I just feel tight. Has anyone experienced this happening before? I am trying not to push it and just listen to my body but it is incredibly difficult and I find myself stretching every free moment to try to work through it. [link] [comments]

Posted: 18 Jun 2021 12:57 PM PDT I am doing my first session of downward dog yoga. I literally cannot complete a single sequence properly to another sequence. Positive: that means it's addressing weaknesses. Negative: should I change something ? I don't mind roughing it out and only doing the first 8 minutes of this session daily until I can get through the entire 18 minute session. But like... is that ideal? [link] [comments]

Do any of my fellow tall yogis recommend an Extra-long towel that’s 80” to 85” long? Posted: 18 Jun 2021 11:58 AM PDT I have the "Manduka PRO Yoga Mat" but Manduka doesn't sell its XL yogitoes towel anymore. And for some reason I can't find any other sellers! I'm looking for a new towel/brand (not a used yogitoes towel on poshmark). Thank ya kindly [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Jun 2021 06:43 AM PDT Don't know if this is appropriate to post, but if you're in the US and have been eyeing a Liforme mat for a while, Amazon has the full size one on sale for almost 30 percent off now. I like the grip but I do think they are a bit overpriced so this is closer to the true value imo. [link] [comments]
Are online yoga videos a good place to start? Posted: 18 Jun 2021 04:05 AM PDT I really want to start my yoga journey and be able to become healthier and more flexible. I cant afford to go somewhere that has yoga as a class though. Im thinking of starting at home. Any opinions? [link] [comments]
