    Meditation: I am a flower

    Meditation: I am a flower

    I am a flower

    Posted: 07 Jul 2021 05:09 AM PDT

I normally take 10 - 15 mins meditation on my lunch break and today when I opened my eyes I bumblebee was on my chest.

I just thought it was nice that it must have mistaken me as a beautiful flower.

    That is all.

    Realization

    Posted: 08 Jul 2021 01:58 AM PDT

So meditating for some times now I have really come to the conclusion that a lot of my issues come from my mom and sister and dad. My whole family is very very narcissistic and manipulation to a degree of blatant heartlessness. While I'm at work or running or whatever I just have these thoughts of my sister and mom of what they've done or how they are that enrage me in the moment. Cause even tho I know I'm not I'm the wrong or it's not my fault. The way they behave all hyper angry and manipulative they will literally insult and degrade me by victimizing themselves even tho I want no part in it. Even if caught in a blatant lie they still manipulate and degrade to the point where I already know it's useless to even talk. The aggravation tactics are the worst on both ends. My mom legit likes to beat my dog cause she knows it upsets me. And when I intervene she turns it into me being a bad son and horrible person who doesn't respect his mom. With my sister she likes to call me a fake dude who acts nice but is always angry and yelling at her and I'm a rude human individual even tho by god I never even raised my voice at her minus once when it's built up to much and I apologized. Meditating I found out these guys are what I need to distant myself from. I hope to manifest it soon.

My anger can’t control me anymore

    Posted: 07 Jul 2021 11:47 AM PDT

    Hi All,

I love this community and the messages of encouragement it brings.

I just want to share that I have been regularly meditating for about 8 months and it has transformed me.

I have dealt with serious anger issues and anxiety throughout the last few years. I have healed and prevented these issues from happening through daily meditation practice. I still have a long way to go but I am so thankful I discovered meditation and focusing my awareness on the present moment. I'm a calmer person and life feels better that way. Whether life is going well or not I can anchor myself in an inner peace that is unwavering. Meditation trains me to tap into that inner peace and it bleeds into everything I do.

Nothing I'm saying is any different from what countless of people have posted here, but hopefully some of you see this today and it inspires you to keep going.

Interruption of meditation and anger (question)

    Posted: 07 Jul 2021 08:36 PM PDT

For the past few nights I have been interrupted consistently while meditating by my mother for practically no reason at all. I understand she does not know when I'm meditating and it is illogical to become angry at this (I have not taken this anger out on her because I know she did nothing to deserve it) but when I'm forcibly yanked out of a meditative state by her calling me from across the entire house to plug in her phone when she is perfectly capable of doing it herself (yes I know, first world problems, right? lol), this feeling of complete anger comes over me for some moments, but I catch it very quickly within a few moments before its even able to take control of me in any way and it dissolves itself. I have not experienced any high level of anger at all in about 7-8 months now, this is the closest I've gotten, even if it is so short lived, so this is why it kind of has come as quite a surprise to me, over something so small too when much much bigger things have happened where there was no anger at all! I know its not for a rational reason it just overcomes me for a few moments, I was just wondering from another perspective could it be just because of the sheer initial shock on my body/mind from being pulled out of a deep state of meditation all of a sudden?

    How to Meditate?

    Posted: 07 Jul 2021 07:46 PM PDT

I'm a person with anxiety and anger issues and a general disbelief for the supernatural. Recently I have gotten in a comfortable spot and no longer have the need to just survive, throughout my whole life I was poor and now I'm well off and have no idea how to live. I understand meditation would help me because my gf said it might. I have no idea where to start. So I ask how do you mediate?

having cold and hot flashes along with blockage in meditation

    Posted: 07 Jul 2021 08:53 PM PDT

When I try to meditate (usually through a frequency wave binaural) I seem to get either hot or cold flashes, then when I get deeper into my meditation it's like I'm blocked as if something doesn't want me to continue and I enter a trance and start seeing visuals as if I'm in a DMT trip but it's not a DMT journey and I get this state of "outer body experience". Yes, I've done DMT and whatnot and highly in tune, even other feel my energy but I don't understand this. It's like when I meditate I don't meditate, I enter another realm.

Also when I hold energy crystals I enter the trance even faster, depending on the chakra it works with. I've been told I'm an indigo child but I still don't understand how or why this happens.

    Relationship

    Posted: 08 Jul 2021 02:03 AM PDT

I recently got into a relationship and I don't know how I'm feeling about it. Idk if it's affecting me negatively or if it's something else. In my eyes she's amazing I can't say she has a negative energy affecting me... I've been taking care of myself spiritually with nofap, and quitting weed, meditation it's extremely hard and it's been a while since I got into it until today. I feel like it worked and got me calmer. My vibration been going down since I started having sex again and vaping so I'm pointing fingers to that. I'm all over the place I think this posts a reflection of that. But anyways I really hope my partner herself is not the issue or just me having sex. I just today quit vaping and will start meditating at least for 5 mins. Something that I've noticed is that since my energy has been going low it's been slowly affecting my relationship in a way of us not being as close. today I meditated and she acted like she did when we first met( very attached) I'm thinking I'm bringing better energy towards us just by a 5 mins meditation in 1 day. I hope this post was understandable enough to get some answers

For all Harry Potter Fans - Isn't meditation extremely similar to Occlumency (blanketing one's mind of thoughts and emotions)?

    Posted: 07 Jul 2021 06:10 PM PDT

Was reading some Harry Potter analysis articles recently and the parallels were way too strong to ignore.

Though there are differences (Occlumency I think suggests suppressing one's thoughts/emotions whereas meditation teaches us to stay present and let them pass instead), learning Occlumency seems to achieve lot of the same defenses against things that penetrate our minds unknowingly (what's called Legilimency) - such as OCD, intrusive thoughts, anxiety, depression, etc.

Just found it interesting to share!

    Deep Meditation "Monster"

    Posted: 07 Jul 2021 04:04 PM PDT

Yesterday I did a meditation session with just myself. After about an hour I started to see what appeared to be like a bug or insect, well actually the first thing I saw was a shop. Like a shop you'd see if you went to a tourist area, A bunch of different random things and cloths. But in there I saw what seems to be a dog-sized insect with long eyes and a face thats very similar to a praying mantis. I felt like it could feel me looking at it. I felt fear but only fear of the unknown or *not* knowing what im perceiving. The image of it wouldn't leave my mind till I shut it off completely. Pretty much side baring the meditation session. Has anybody experienced seeing "things" while meditating before?

How has meditation effected your social anxiety?

    Posted: 07 Jul 2021 01:47 PM PDT

I used to meditate, and got to a point where I started to have these very profound realizations about reality; due to understanding that everything we think is just our minds, and our minds are just an illusion, and it felt like I could explain anything.

I was an avid pot smoker and as soon as my "friends" came back into my life, I stopped my journey. Not sure why but I'm looking to get back into it.

If I do, and continue to meditate every day, will my social anxiety go away?

Anyone ever feel like their body is moving closer towards to itself when you’re in a relatively deep meditative state?

    Posted: 07 Jul 2021 11:50 PM PDT

It's hard to explain but I once felt like my body was small and everything was centered to myself. I felt like a box. In a very amazing way. A spiritual box haha. Like I said, it's hard to explain but I felt like I was physically close to myself, when In reality I was in the same position as to when I started. Just me? Anyone else?

Help me out. Is there a name for this?

    Posted: 07 Jul 2021 05:22 PM PDT

When practising deep breathing, at some point - usually between 1 and 10 minutes - the breaths in seem to suddenly 'spill' into a larger area and it's incredibly relaxing. After that point, each breath out feels like hot, troubled air is leaving my nostrils. If it has a name I can learn more about it.

    Thanks

How to get someone to change their mind about meditation?

    Posted: 07 Jul 2021 10:23 PM PDT

I know someone who suffers from attachments and think they would really benefit from meditation but their response is always "oh I tried it, I didn't like it" or "it didn't do anything for me". How can I change their perception of meditation? Isn't the benefit of mindfulness through meditation universal?

Don't try to escape into meditation from your problems

    Posted: 07 Jul 2021 10:37 AM PDT

That is not how it works. You won't calculate yourself out of a bad equation.

Stay with your pain, stay with the pain. You can hide, and you will, many many times, but you will not escape. And one day you will realise this, and you will stay, and you will change.

    My first go at it

    Posted: 07 Jul 2021 10:07 AM PDT

I've lurked here for a little while now, reading a post from time to time, but today I chose to give it a go for the first time, and I've gotta say, there's something about just sitting there in silence contemplating on nothing but existence. I meditated for five minutes, and after I got up, that was the best I've felt in a long while. Not quite a serene sense of peace, but just an explicable calm.

How does one give the self permission to truly be happy... without getting in the way?

    Posted: 07 Jul 2021 08:45 AM PDT

    Hello good people-

I am discovering that the closer I come to breaking through in my meditation practice, the more my ego (the self) seems to build another wall.

For example, I'll have an amazing experience in one session with loving-kindness and then I'll find excuses to rationalize not continuing or persuing this practice further.

It's almost as if my ego doesn't want me to be "too" happy. (guarded?)

Maybe there is something in my recognition and awareness of this aspect of my "self" that will lead to continued progress... but any tips or pointers in the meantime would certainly be appreciated.

How does one give the self permission to truly be happy... without getting in the way?

    Much love and thanks!

    Cheers!

Start a stopwatch. See how long you can remain completely still.

    Posted: 07 Jul 2021 12:23 PM PDT

"Be still and know that I am God".

Observe all that comes and goes. Sensations. Thoughts. All coming and going. Remain still and relaxed.

    "Absolute truth is silence."

    Movement meditation

    Posted: 07 Jul 2021 06:21 PM PDT

So I don't know if any of you have tried Bikram yoga but it's a form of movement meditation that I've found extremely powerful. The first time I tried it I was in a really low point in my life, and during the class there's no room for thought because you're sweating your ass off. So post class my mind was entirely renewed it was like someone wrung out a sopping wet towel & the towel was my limiting self beliefs & negative emotions. I highly suggest it if you have a hard time doing sitting meditation. Obviously still practice sitting meditation but try this and thank me later!
