Posted: 30 Mar 2020 10:44 PM PDT I am very inflexible and I have some lower back problems, hamstrings tightness, and calf tightness. I really want to start stretching and make some life changes. What are stretches I can do? Is there a routine I can incorporate? [link] [comments]
So I just got a full pike + Full pancake ! Now time for a middle split ! Posted: 30 Mar 2020 05:26 PM PDT Hi all ! I'm someone that generally does powerlifting and calisthenics , but after busting my elbows I've decided to do flexibility work a lot more seriously. Anyways I've been doing pike+pancake work for about 14 months now and I just gotten my full pike and pancake I even made a full pancake routine (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v5DmIGL5wsk&t=8s ) Anyways I've threading into the territory of a split and I'm actually a little scared , so transitioning from a pancake to a middle split , would their concepts be the same ? Posted: 30 Mar 2020 10:59 PM PDT Hey there all, so I was wondering if people knew any forward back bending videos, when I say this I mean being able to round your back, there was a good video I watched a while ago but I couldn't find it, and whenever I look up forward back bend, videos of standing floor touches pop up. The idea in my head is Kinda like cat posing back bending flexibility, I remember that was one of the moves in the video I watched. Help is appreciated, thanks in advance [link] [comments]
Journey Through Flexibility: My back is still always full of knots Posted: 30 Mar 2020 08:32 PM PDT Hello R/Flexibility -- I've lurked here for a long time. Given the current quarantine I've stepped up my yoga and body weight workout game. I have been doing yoga intermittently for 4 or so years, but in the last 6 months its really become my primary fitness/physical activity. I went to yoga classes 3-4x a week. In quarantine I'm now doing it 1-2x a day along with a yoga based strength workout daily. My body feels totally transformed. I've gotten significantly more flexible in the past 3 weeks. I have so much awareness in all of my body if that makes sense. It feels incredible. My shoulders and neck are so much more looser and free. But when i roll them and stretch them, i can physically feel and hear the knots crackle around in my upper back/neck. For years I've had issues with knots in my upper back. A massage therapist once told me my back felt 'crunchy' because it was so full of knots. A guilty pleasure is having someone take a rolling pin to my upper back and massage them out. Becoming more flexible has made me even more aware of them. Even as I type, I'm just moving my shoulder forward and back which is massaging my knots in my upper back. they make a loud sound as I move my shoulder. Crackling and moving. Theyre especially bad on my left side. I can feel the tightness in the area when i go into poses like thread the needle or simply resting one cheek on the floor. It feels amazing to stretch it out and i love focusing on neck stretches because of it. This isnt... normal right? I've been told I have excellent posture, i sleep like a baby at night on a temperpedic pillow. I have a desk job sure, but i make an effort to move around and stay physically fit outside of work. Does anyone have any advice? Similar experiences? TLDR: My upper back has always been full of knots. Even as I've gotten significantly more flexibility its still full of knots. Help. Any opinions on "Easy Flexibility - Hip Combo" by Paul Zaichik? Posted: 30 Mar 2020 03:34 PM PDT I am thinking about purchasing the "Hip Combo - Beginner Level" from https://www.easyflexibility.com/collections/hips-flexibility/products/hip-combo-1-beginner-level I am having trouble finding any information about it outside of their website. Has anyone tried this or any other videos from Paul Zaichik and Easy Flexibility? What are your thoughts on the Kinesiological stretching methods? [link] [comments]
burning in armpit during stretching? Posted: 30 Mar 2020 11:45 AM PDT I get some burning in my armpits when I'm doing stretches on my pecs, lats, and triceps with my arms overhead. It feels like the burn I've experienced when bodyworkers work on my fascia, and goes away when I stop. Anyone else get this? Thoughts? Explanations? Advice? [link] [comments]
