Have a "stupid" question and are afraid to ask it? (Or don't want to make a whole thread for it?) Well, feel free to ask away in this thread! There's no such thing as a stupid question. This is also a great opportunity for the rest of the community to help each other out.

    Guidelines:

    • As always, read the FAQ to make sure your question isn't answered already.
    • If you're looking for the Motivational Month threads from the past, they are all here in our Wiki.
    • You can also use the search bar to see if an answer to your question exists already.
    • We are not medical professionals. If something hurts and it doesn't go away within a week's rest, see one!

    Enjoy!

    Knee tendon problem

    Posted: 20 Apr 2020 04:45 AM PDT

I fell on my knee about a year ago. Since then, I cannot walk on my knee hardly. I went to a doctor about this and I had xrays and what I was told is that my knee may have some issues with the tendon and it may be shifting and he said women have more problems with tendons shifting than men do. He said try anti inflammatory and a brave would help. I just started a brace. My question is, anyone dealt with this first off and also, does this get better? I need assurance. I feel just kinda hopeless. My knee feels dislocated and it's not. It hurts. I just feel like sending me on my way with such little advice isn't enough...

I feel like my hamstrings have won

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 07:04 AM PDT

I don't know if anyone can relate to this or offer any advice on this bizarre post.

I think I've inherited some wickedly tight hamstrings and I have been excited to try and stretch them out and one day actually be able to touch my toes. However stretching out these bad boys feels totally different to all other muscles. Stretching my hamstrings just feels uncomfortable and increasing the intensity makes me slightly light headed.

When doing a pike I can probably bend 30-40 degrees, however using what I know as proper hip rotation (anterior) makes my lower back start pinching, and the faint feeling hits me. I'm constantly worrying I'm bending my back, which every instruction ever on hamstring stretching warns against. This may be a mixture of isolation and lacking motivation but the difficulties I'm facing with my hammies is making me not want to stretch at all. I feel like they've out right won!

What are the benefits of flexibility?

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 09:24 AM PDT

Simple question: I enjoy a good Yoga class, but in terms of training purely for flexibility why do you practice?

    Splits Beginner Questions

    Posted: 19 Apr 2020 03:38 PM PDT

I have a few questions for someone who's just starting out and has a goal of splits in a year.

    1. What's the best splits routine?

    2. Should I stretch all muscle groups daily? I've been doing multiple types of static stretches for 30 seconds

    3. How do I get flexible hamstrings safely? I feel like it hurts to stretch but don't think I'm over doing it
