| Tightness on my right psoas and hip Posted: 16 Aug 2020 08:42 PM PDT What would you guys suggest for a guy with only right hip tightness. Whenever i sit, i can feel that my right glute is smaller in volume. I also know when doing deadlift, right glute has to work more. Anybody else have the same issue. [link] [comments] | ||

| Need help with Pec minor pain. Posted: 17 Aug 2020 02:09 AM PDT I'll try to make it as detailed as possible. Sorry if it's too long About 6 weeks ago i re-injured my left pec major while working out, it wasn't really anything bad just a slight strain on old injury. At that time i found out that my chest muscles are really tight, to the point where i felt no stretches. I tried all the stretches that i could find and none of them worked for me. The only one that i actually felt stretching my chest a bit was this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQ7tgOHj9vM. After doing it once a day for about a week the pain from my pec major was gone ( it was side of the inner chest if it makes sense ) but started hurting here ( around the place that i drew a circle) https://imgur.com/Cx8uBQa . It wasn't that bad and i had some work to do outside for a few more days so after stopping stretching and just working the pain was gone after a few days. About a week ago the pain came back (pec minor), initially it just hurt for a few hours after doing some physical activities outside, but for about 3 days now, the pain is constant just like i would have inflammation. Few days ago i tried doing chest flyes with 1kg dumbbell to see how it feels and the pain was really weird, nothing like i have experienced before (not really that bad but just feels weird as hell) and i had quite many injuries. The pain mostly felt like the most intense stretch i have ever felt but on top of it there was some tingling/numb pain, but the weird part is that it didn't felt as if it was an injury. Anti-inflammatory painkillers makes the pain a bit better but it doesn't go away completely. The pain is also atm not that bad that i couldn't endure it but i'm at really big discomfort, and i already feel like left hand overhead movements are getting slightly difficult. Also the pain doesn't really feel like the muscle is simply tight, i have really tight neck muscles cause of sitting a lot at a computer and it feel completely different. (important stuff) So here's more information about the whole situation. My flexibility is very poor, few years ago i had a trap strain which i had difficulty recovering from and even re-injured it with poor form deadlift after completetly recovering from it so for about 2 years i had bellow normal/average physical activity and i became really physically weakened. Managed to get some strength back but flexibility is still a problem. Also for about whole summer i really didn't pay any attention to my posture while sitting at the computer, it became really bad since it's my main activity cause i can't work out because of recurring injuries due to bad flexibility. Two weeks ago i started sitting as straight as possible and around the time (a week ago) the pain came back to my pec minor i just had started doing r/flexibility beginner's stretching routine. At first i didn't really paid any attention to it cause the pain was just slight. Yesterday i did my 3rd or 4th stretching session but most likely will stop doing it for now. In resting position the pain is mostly like inflammation and while doing shoulder movements like pressing shoulder blades together and overhead movements sometimes has some tingling pain. Physical activities seem to make the pain go away but after resting for some time, the pain comes back. Also for 2 days i didn't sleep really that well because of the discomfort, while laying on my side there's quite a bit of discomfort and while laying on my back i get some tightness on my left side of back which also only happened for the second time last night. ( i used to sleep a lot on my belly but stopped doing it some time ago cause the way i slept would cause shoulder pain). That's all i think, hopefully didn't forget any important details. So can anyone comment and help with my current situation. While the pain is still endurable it's getting really annoying and i don't really want for my pec to weaken cause it's already been a week and the pain indicates that somethings definitely wrong. So here's my biggest concerns:
Sorry if this post is a mess, i'm not really used to writing stuff like this and just tried to give as much information as possible. While i would like to go to doctor for this problem, i live in a kind of shithole country and even in a small town so most doctors don't give a damn and most of my injuries they made even worse with stuff like starting physical therapy while the injury is very fresh, no personalized rehab ( just a general one that was to hard for my injury), then there was once when i had a cracked wrist but the doctor said it was fine, few weeks later there was slight swelling in my hand that didn't go away for like a year and even now sometimes comes back if i'm less physically active. So yeah, as long as it's not life threatening i would prefer to not go to those doctors. Please help. [link] [comments]

| [Dorsiflexion] Feel 0 stretch in ankles even with my entire weight on it Posted: 16 Aug 2020 05:08 PM PDT Hi I recently picked up running during the quarantine and have noticed that i can't really lift my front foot up much while running and does quickly become tight to the point that I slap my feet on the ground/my foot gets numb-ish/ and I can not dorsiflex whatsoever. I do some exercises like walking around on my heel while flexing my foot up as much as I can w/o compensating else where. and I have this random band that I use as resistance when flexing my foot. So I have been doing stretching for the past month or so.
I literally got on the edge of my stairs, put the ball of my foot on it and just put all my weight on it (very slowly) and I felt no stretch on my ankle/achilies/calves. I just felt nothing. Would this be a place where I would need to see a professional? Because I am really enjoying running and it just sucks when my ankles lock up and i just can't. [link] [comments]
| Advice for extreme back stiffening since lockdown? Posted: 16 Aug 2020 08:02 AM PDT I'll start out with a bit of background: I've always been active, daily running, walking, cycling and gymming, and an office job - I wouldn't win any medals, and had plenty of the kind of stiffness that you'd expect, but was pretty happy with things. I started aerial hoop/lyra last year really improved my strength and flexibility, and never experienced any discomfort in my back. My activity levels dropped off a cliff when lockdown was imposed in the UK, although I did a workout or run most days and passive and PNF stretching for my splits, it was nothing compared to my previous activity levels. And applying for jobs and then working at a laptop at home has not been great for my posture. I've been getting more active lately and noticed the big drop in strength, but felt ok about it. But I was worried today when I was doing a floor workout for core, which included lying out flat on my back with my arms stretched out above my head, and gripping a (really heavy) table leg. Then you lift your legs and hips up and over, back into a pike or straddle. So you're rolling back onto your upper back/shoulders. Anyway, this was a move that only used to make my abs uncomfortable. But today! The discomfort in my back was so bad I had to stop. It felt like the stretch in my back was beyond healthy. I know when a stretch backwards is too much ie trying to do a wheel, and I dont push it. It's something I've never felt in the 'chin to chest' back stretch though. I guess there's any interplay of weakened muscles and poor posture, but it seems out of kilter with the rest of my fitness. Can anyone advise on causes and ways to get past it? Thanks Edit: TL;DR sorry just realised how long this is. I've started to find shoulderstand type 'chin to chest' stretching really uncomfortable back stretch though. Thoughts and advice appreciated Edit 2: upper back [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 16 Aug 2020 10:57 PM PDT As per title , I also do Jiu Jitsu and weightlifting on top of that as well .. so the days I don't do either of those I'll do the Limber 11 routine which equals out to 3 times a week. Obviously the more the better, but can I still get benefit from this current set up? [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 16 Aug 2020 10:41 PM PDT Hello! I'm interested in purchasing a resistance band to work on strengthening but I'm not too sure what level of resistance would be suitable for this. I'm debating between ultra light (2.3kg - 6.8kg) and light (11.4kg - 22.7kg). Does anyone have any experience in this? [link] [comments] | ||
| Trying to get my splits! Daily stretching, or days off? Posted: 16 Aug 2020 01:14 PM PDT I've been working towards my front splits on both sides for about a month, and stretching daily pretty religiously, but I've noticed my legs are getting a bit sore. Should I be taking recovery days off? Or just keep on with the everyday? I've been doing a 10-15 minute stretching sequence then holding each side for 2 minutes. [link] [comments] | ||
