Rounded Low Back in Happy Baby Pose

    Posted: 26 Apr 2020 02:52 PM PDT

    Hi all,

I've been working with happy baby pose and have been watching various videos talk about how you don't want your lower back to round and raise off of the ground during the happy baby pose. Unfortunately in order to get my heels to point towards the sky I have to round my lower back. If I maintain a flat low back I can't raise my heels all the way up to face the sky. I can raise my heels but I don't feel any sort of stretch without the low back rounding and the heels facing the sky. If I do round my back I feel a massive stretch in my hamstrings.

Should I round my low back and get my heels to face the sky or should I be maintain a flat back and, if so, how do I get the stretch then if I can't feel it that way? I'm very confused.

    Thank you for your help!

My own 90 day yoga challenge (I am a yoga newbie)

    Posted: 26 Apr 2020 12:36 PM PDT

Tomorrow I'll be beginning a journey that I'm super excited for. I have very little experience with yoga and have joined a really great online yoga website. I will be practicing, hopefully, 30 min or more of yoga a day, until I reach 90 days. I have an area set up in my house (I've been a regular meditator for 10 years) and have everything I need.

My plan is to start very slow, with classes for beginners, alternating between hatha and restorative.

I'm wondering if anyone has any advice or can tell me, based on their experience when they were new, what I can expect. I'm not the most active person, so I assume I'm going to be sore? Any tips, tricks, hints or words of encouragement would be great!

Any of you lovelies have experience with the Feet UP trainer or know someone who has? Is it worth investing in or a total gimmick? (I have rather weak wrists and some inversions strain me)

Using yoga to assist martial arts

    Posted: 26 Apr 2020 05:26 PM PDT

I'm a martial artist and was told that yoga could assist in flexibility and other aspects of strength, so any ideas for stuff I could do to assist my martial arts?

    Cork mat

    Posted: 26 Apr 2020 02:58 PM PDT

Hi guys and gals, I'm looking for a cork yoga mat as I hear they're very non-slippery and I specifically like the less-waste idea about them. Are there any cork mats you can recommend? I'm located in Europe and something below 50€ would be nice. I'm sorry if this question has been answered before.
