    I need help

    Posted: 01 May 2020 11:42 PM PDT

So my entire life I've been told I'm one of the least flexible people multiple trainers, coaches, etc have ever seen. My hamstrings are too tight, my whole body really seems to suffer from this. I don't know what to do because I see so many conflicting reports and stuff and I just want it to be better. Any advice, tips, anything would be amazing. I just want some kind of hope I guess

How can I avoid knee twinges?

    Posted: 02 May 2020 04:52 AM PDT

Hi. I am getting back into shape after 6 months no training. I have always suffered from clicking and popping in my kneecaps, notably when I do hip rotations. I have also noticed that I have started getting mild pain in my left knee whenever I carry anything on my left side. What sure fire ways of strengthening my knees to build resilience could you recommend, and what could be causing the popping when I rotate my hips but my knees are static? Thanks in advance.

How should I stretch my back?

    Posted: 02 May 2020 04:45 AM PDT

When I try to do a backbend lower back hurts. A lot. And because of this intense pain I've kind of out of trying to stretch for a while because the pain caused a mental block. I've done some research and I realised I might not be stretching my back evenly (I might be depending all on my lower back). I can't breathe when I go into a bridge and try to straighten my legs so I can open up my chest and shoulders. How should I stretch in this case? I'm hoping I can get more flexible in my mid+upper back and my shoulders so that I can push my shoulders past my wrist in a bridge (wheel pose).

Can you recommend a routine/video for a full stretch that you can do everyday that addresses 'sitting syndrome' which address tight lower back, hip flexors, quads, hamstrings, calves and ankles as well as weak glutes ? Thx.

How to strictly improve "cold" flexibility?

    Posted: 01 May 2020 02:35 PM PDT

Hi all, I was wondering how can I improve my cold flexibility. When I first wake up, i legitimatly can not touch my toes. However after about 10 min of warming up I am able to do a front splits.

I am wondering if anybody else had this large of a disconnect between their cold and warm flexibility and what steps can be taken to bridge the gap.

TLDR: How can one bridge the gap between cold and warm flexibility limits?

    Thanks!

    Spine alignment and cracking

    Posted: 01 May 2020 11:50 AM PDT

    Hi Everyone,

Lately my spine cracks whenever I put my back into an extended position. Working really hard on my flexibility in the hips which I think is helping but the cracking is somewhat new (less than 6 months) and very frequent. When I am doing yoga and alternate between Seal pose and child's pose it will always crack when I go into seal pose.

These cracks don't hurt or anything they are more of just a nuisance and something I don't think should be happening but I am not sure if I am out of alignment somehow.....if something is weak and there is overcompensation or what.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!!

Injury prevents me stretching both legs - is focusing on one leg advisable or not?

    Posted: 01 May 2020 08:36 AM PDT

Due to a hamstring injury I can't stretch my right leg at the moment. The stretching just makes it worse so I've had to stop. it's annoying because one of my goals this year was to improve my flexibility.

But, my left leg is fine. So I'm wondering, should I continue to work on my flexibility on that side? I started to do this, but then I thought, maybe its not advisable to work on one side but not the other. You hear all the time that you should try to fix imbalances in the body - although, I think I've only heard that in relation to strength and mass.

Any thoughts on this? Any problem with having one side more flexible than the other? Or should I wait until the hamstring is 100% and work both sides equally?

I was studying sarcomere anatomy for a final in a few days and made this. It's about flexability, I didn't know where else to post it.
