Doing yoga around cats is really hard Posted: 25 May 2020 10:33 AM PDT My 7-week old kitten decided that my yoga time was the perfect opportunity to start attacking my hands. Holding down dog is really difficult when there's sharp teeth on your fingers. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 May 2020 07:58 AM PDT Avid hiker/walker here who took 2 months off because of Covid 19. I've been doing yoga on and off for a while, but really kicked it into gear these past two months since I couldn't hike anywhere good. I've been doing Down Dog (thanks for the Rec in a previous post) consistently 5-6 days a week for 6 weeks now. Went on my first hike yesterday in a while and felt stronger and able to control my breath better for the hike!! Just another great benefit to the practice :) [link] [comments] |
I want to integrate Breatwork and Meditation in my home Practice... Any sequencing advice? Posted: 25 May 2020 07:47 PM PDT I have a strong home practice (vinyasa) but I want to add a breathwork and meditation element to it. Do you think i should do mediation after savasana and then breathwork? Or should I do my breathwork before i begin my practice? Any advice on how to add it in terms of sequencing would be great. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 May 2020 07:32 PM PDT i have been doing the proper stretching, but when i enter lotus my ankles always feel as they are going to tear a tendon, any help would be much appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 May 2020 06:51 AM PDT Since COVID, i was going under some stress for the past couple of months and felt less enthusiastic. Even my eating habit was hard to control (side note: hardly ate take-outs because I don't know who may carry it). Anyways, starting today, I decided to do some yoga to get myself back in shape and build my energy up. Today is just the beginning. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 25 May 2020 05:03 PM PDT What would practicers of people who have practiced this yoga suggest me, a literal noob in yoga, to go as to understand what is happening in this yoga. It seems to me really as if this yoga is some rocket science in yoga, is this just a bias? Should i start on something easier then perhaps? [link] [comments] |
Where to buy High quality mantra recordings? Posted: 25 May 2020 10:41 AM PDT Good Day to you! Where Can I buy traditional, authentic, vedic mantra chant recordings? [link] [comments] |
I thought I was not making any progress Posted: 24 May 2020 11:58 PM PDT Hello everyone! So I started doing yoga on the down Dog app around March and even though I've been able to do lengthen my sessions from 10 to 20 minuts a day, I didn't feel I was making progress on my poses and flexibility. However, yesterday I was talking to my gf about how stiff I am and tried to prove it by showing her I was not able to fully sit on my heels... except I was not able to do so, since somehow now my heels finally touch my butt! I know it's not such a big deal but I felt like sharing. Now I can move to my next objective: be able to touch my feet with my hands! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 May 2020 09:06 AM PDT I've done two sessions so far (yesterday and today). I'm actually really liking it. I just feel more loose and relaxed. I'm using the down dog app. A couple questions:
Any and all replies are appreciated! :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 May 2020 01:43 PM PDT So I usually just practice yoga via free classes on YouTube. My main go to instructor is Lizette Pompa, but she only has a limited number of videos on there. I recently noticed that she has a paid subscription as well. Wondering if anyone has bought a subscription to "Lizette Pompa yoga playbook app"? If so how do you like it? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 May 2020 01:20 PM PDT So I decided to try out this style of yoga after bumping into Elevate The Globe. I tried a video by BrettLarkinYoga on YouTube and I felt energized after the fact. I experienced one peculiar thing and that was the taste of what seemed like fire in my throat. Has anyone experienced anything similar and could this be a warning that I may channel this energy wrong? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 May 2020 01:18 PM PDT I am on the road most days in the same position, my legs and back get tired, I have just bought light on yoga but there are so many asana it's overwhelming, I guess I only need a half dozen asanas to practice any input appreciated. "_) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 May 2020 07:17 AM PDT I have been doing Hot Yoga practically every day for the last month. I am feeling weaker than usual and as if I need more sleep. Could my fatigue be caused by the yoga? And if so, what is the physiological cause? I am making sure to hydrate generously and I take salt tablets every day. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 May 2020 07:17 AM PDT I was vaguely planning on doing a weekend-only YTT this fall. The studio I hoped to do it at closed all their locations here. I'm not sure studios will be open in fall (I'm in NYC) and I don't love the idea of practicing in a studio for a while. I know some studios are offering online YTT but that's not the experience I am looking for (especially when it's still $3k!). If I could find a cheap self-guided one I might do it just to self-develop. I'm not really looking to teach, just to deepen my understanding, but I think I would like the RYT for possible future career goals. Do people think that the traditional 200-hr YTT will change? You just can't have 20 people in a studio all day right now, at least where I am. Maybe some mix of online and in-person? Folks planning to do a YTT this year - have your thoughts or plans changed? Posted: 25 May 2020 06:25 AM PDT Hey guys, I'm looking for some good slow yoga sequences so I can focus more on form and balance. The Iyengar videos I've come across on Youtube aren't that good, and Ashtanga is too fast. Ideally each pose would be held for a minute plus. Any recs? I'm not looking for Yin or anything like that.
