Ashtanga yoga: Weed and ashtanga? |

Posted: 13 Jun 2020 09:02 PM PDT I recently got the elephant yoga Mysore rug. It's lovely, but I find that I don't sweat enough to really get the rug damp. I find that My hands slip a lot in urdhva dhanurasana, and given that my shoulders and wrists are quite tight, the slipperyness makes this pose a huge struggle. I've tried dampening the rug before urdhva dhanurasana which is a slightly improvement. Otherwise the best way to get traction is for me to wet my hands and then do urdhva dhanurasana with my hands directly on my lulu mat. I had wanted to move away from lulu due to things that their founder has said, but so far I've found that it is the most slip proof for me in urdhva dhanurasana, which is by far the pose that I struggle with the most.
