I can put my sock on my left leg without too much pain now Posted: 12 Jun 2020 05:37 AM PDT Long story short i had spine surgery and being unable to walk for so long fucked my flexibility. I gained it back mostly in my right leg, but my left leg was extremely stiff. Honestly to the point where i should be using the devices they make to help you get dressed. But im only 23 and i refuse to be what i feel like is disabled. So the main way i have to put my socks on is sitting on the edge of the bed, putting one foot over the other knee, and trying to fish for the sock hole with my toes because i cant bend over anymore to just put it on my feet. Ive been able to do it with my right foot for a while, but now i can do it with my left foot. Still pretty uncomfortable, but not to the point of excruciating pain just trying to do a simple task [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 Jun 2020 01:23 AM PDT I am currently 16 years old and not flexible at all. I feel like I might be too old to start now because my goals seem very distant. I basically want to get into contortion and stuff like that. I really want to get started however I know that there will be no point if I don't achieve what I want to. I am hoping to be really flexible by the time I am 20. I know it takes time but people have told me that as you get older things can get a lot harder when it comes to flexibility. I would appreciate any feedback :) [link] [comments]

How long did Frog Pose took you? Posted: 13 Jun 2020 02:44 AM PDT I am a 31 year old IT guy, who up to a year and a half a go was closer to a piece of wood than a flexible person, just to be clear :D. I've been doing a lot of yoga for a year, and in particular doing Adison Briana's (flow with adee for older viewers) frog pose routines for like 10 months, and I've come waaay further than I've even thought possible. To be clear, lets just say my balls are around 8 cm apart from the floor. Too graphic? Sorry ;D. And I am wondering, now that it seems possible, if I am going to actually get it this year! How long did it take in your own experiences? [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Jun 2020 11:12 PM PDT lately ive gotten into doing yoga and enjoy it even though i am very inflexible. HOWEVER i have noticed i have one huge stubborn body part that is making no improvement - my back! i cant bend forward AT ALL or even do those positions that involve bringing the head to the floor. i can go backwards but not much. youtube videos about this are either too hard or they leave my back in PAIN - the bad kind! how can i remedy this or IS THERE NO HOPE???? i really want to be a yoga master but i cant progress past beginner yoga because of this ☹️ [link] [comments]
Flexible but can’t touch my toes? Posted: 12 Jun 2020 01:41 PM PDT I've always been pretty flexible, I can touch my face to the floor while in a straddle and I have no problem putting my hands on the ground when standing up and bending towards my toes, but when I try to touch my toes while sitting down with legs straight out in front of me I can't do it at all. Why is this? Is there anything I can do to fix this? I was a dancer my whole life (I'm 21F and danced from the age of 2 until 18) and I was never able to touch my toes with my legs in front of me. Thanks for the help! [link] [comments]
Stretching Hip Flexors problem Posted: 12 Jun 2020 08:36 AM PDT So i have weak medius muscles, And im strengthening them, but at the same time i have a tight groin and tight hip Flexors so my PT gave me some exercises. So instead of paying money to go back just to ask for this i thought i could ask here. When i try to stretch my Hip Flexors with the most common way of having one leg in front and slightly bending forward, i almost feel nothing in my hip flexors, but a lot in my quads. If i try to like extend my leg a lot more forward, and bending more i can feel it in my flexors. But from what i understand im supported to almost stay straight up, tighten my butts and sliiiiightly bend forward. But how am i supposed to do that if my quads stretch like hell and my flexors dont seem to be stretched at all ? Am i doing something wrong or is my squads just so tight ? [link] [comments]
Do I pull during Rear Hand Clasp? Posted: 12 Jun 2020 09:47 AM PDT Hi Redditors, I am currently doing the suggested flexibility routine and I have a question on the Rear Hand Claps. As of now, I am unable to touch my fingers while doing it and grabbing a towel in between. During the "holding" parts (10/20/30 seconds) should I be pull on the towel? Or should I try to itch/crawl both my hands closer? [link] [comments]

Can do side splits but not front split? Posted: 12 Jun 2020 01:43 PM PDT Edit: I'm referring to a pancake split I think, where the inner part of your feet are on the floor, unless that's not good form? So I have no problem doing splits on both legs, but I can't do a middle split. I have danced my whole life (I'm 21F and danced from age 2-18) and practice regular stretching and yoga and have never been able to get my middle split. I get really bad pain in my groin area on a daily basis, so stretching into a middle split has never gone very well for me (ends up causing bad pain)- is there any way I can slowly work up to a middle split in a painless way? Thank you! [link] [comments]
Warm up before beginner routine? Posted: 12 Jun 2020 09:32 AM PDT Should I warm myself up before starting the routine or are the dynamic stretches in between enough? [link] [comments]

How to close last few inches on front splits? Posted: 12 Jun 2020 11:28 AM PDT During quarantine I've been working on trying to do the splits, but I just can't seem to close the last couple inches. Any tips? [link] [comments]
Pancake Progression Recommendation? Posted: 12 Jun 2020 08:32 AM PDT Hey all, I do weightlifting 3x a week, the "Starting Stretching" routine + yoga 2x a week, but I'd really like to work more on my pancake 2x a week in a more dedicated, as I'm terrible at it. Is there a dedicated, standalone pancake progression people can suggest? I can allocate ~30 minute 2x a week to it. If it's short, front splits might be a nice add-on, but that's not my main goal.
