| Bumping movements in starting to stretch safe? Posted: 10 Jun 2020 03:48 AM PDT Are they safe? I saw somewhere that bouncing is not good (something about ballistic stretching?). Isn't bumping similar? Can anyone clarify this for me? I'm a beginner to stretching and it would be great appreciated! Extra question I have. Is the starting stretch routine enough to be able to be able to touch my toes? (I want to be able to do an L sit with legs straight) I mean there are hamstring stretches in the routine but it's either legs spread out, or one leg at a time. So it's not the exact movement of sitting down, both legs out front, and touching toes. (Idk stretch name) [link] [comments] | ||
| Something “popped” back of left thigh Posted: 10 Jun 2020 02:50 AM PDT 20 Male. I was just stretching my legs when suddenly i heard a pop and somehow i felt it came from my upper rear left thigh. Probably hamstring? Its been an hour since it popped now and there is no pain and i can still walk properly. Do i need to get it checked? Thanks! [link] [comments] | ||
| What is the current research on stretching frequency? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 02:19 PM PDT Without the commute I have much more time on my hands and have been consistently stretching every day. I was looking for some recent research on the topic of stretching frequency and the point of diminishing marginal returns but couldn't find anything of substance. What I'm curious is what is the current believed optimal approach for stretch, e.g. 60s isometric contraction stretch x 2 for the target muscle three times a day every day, or whether its one string session every day or is even every day too much. edit: This type of question has been asked a lot I am aware, I have looked up many of the threads on Quora and reddit but they are all filled with anecdotes. I would love If someone could like some papers [link] [comments] | ||
| Stabbing pain in left calf while stretching? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 10:37 PM PDT Every time I try to stretch my posterior chain or while I'm in any type of hip hinged position and try to stretch my calf at the same time I get a stabbing pain running down my left calf up to my Achilles tendon. I have had this for years and can provoke the pain, although not exactly always in the same position. Anyone knows what this could be? [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 09 Jun 2020 08:20 PM PDT Will everyone eventually be able to do splits given enough training? Even as a child, when I was extremely flexible and could do virtually every pose in Yoga, I struggled with splits. Could there be an anatomical reason why it is difficult for some people? | Posted: 09 Jun 2020 05:44 AM PDT Has anyone seen progress from training intensively once a week? I would love to be able to train more than that but with work and everything else it's not easy. [link] [comments] | ||

| Has anyone actually fixed their knock knees without surgery? Posted: 09 Jun 2020 05:44 AM PDT Hey guys, Im 21 and just learned what knock knees are. I always thought my knees were normal but I do have some serious hip and back pain and I'm realizing this might be why. I did some research all night and can barely find before and after pictures through exercise. Is it actually possible to realign them without surgery? [link] [comments] |
