Anyone else get unreasonably excited about this side effect of yoga? Posted: 16 Jun 2020 10:36 PM PDT Did my first yoga class on september 10 2019. went back every day since. love it. getting all the usual and numerous benefits of yoga. not least of which is the yoga body. but the one that most frequently brings me a joy that is difficult to describe. it is how graceful i have recently become. I am an old dude. 54. And i swear to god i am moving like a ballerina lately. exaggeration but you get the point. i am constantly amazed at how my movement in small things has changed. how i reach into a grocery bag to take something out. my hands now snake in smoothly and slowly. involuntarily. when i carry something i naturally balance out perfectly as I walk. i never thought i would enjoy how I move. i hadn't imagined such a thing existed. i was a lumbering oaf just a year ago. it honestly feels like someone else has taken control of my body. sometimes. it's one of those rare weird but awesome feelings. am i the only one who feels this? Posted: 17 Jun 2020 05:13 PM PDT Hi all, I just bought a fitness jumpsuit and I love practicing in it - everything fits right, nothing does what it isn't supposed to do, and I don't have to think about putting on two pieces. But I am finding it challenging to find yoga/fitness jumpsuits or rompers that don't cost a fortune! Any suggestions? [link] [comments] |
Few of the question as a guy who wants to try yoga Posted: 17 Jun 2020 05:45 PM PDT I do use computer for playing games alot .Is it possible to play games and do yoga at same time ? or Is it possible to do yoga while doing other works ? Also,is there any yoga that can be done for good sexual health, better eye sight ,weight loss, concentraion and increases memory Sorry if the question sounds too stupid to ask . [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Jun 2020 07:37 PM PDT Today I finally followed the right technique and did ustra asan. I have started yoga from start of May and I just couldn't bend the right way in any of the asan. May be due to the principles of lethargy and laziness I followed for the past couple of years. But today I feel on high skies 😍😇 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Jun 2020 11:44 AM PDT hi guys. a few months was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. my yoga practice actually started around the same time my chronic pain started so pretty much all of my yoga i've done with these symptoms, mainly chronic pain. i know there's a book on yoga for fibro but i think it's verrry gentle and chair based, which i don't feel i necessarily need. i mainly do hatha and a little bit of vinyasa but find vinyasa a bit too strenuous. i Lovee yoga and how how it makes me feel, want to practice more and also want to know i'm being as safe with my body as possible. any recommendations for books or videos or anything that might be useful. i know there are some yoga books called yoga for everybody (or something) with general modifications. basically i think book recommendations which are based on making yoga more inclusive for diff bodies, bodies w pain conditions, modifications etc would help. i thought about getting bernie clark's book 'your body, your yoga' (i think?) but it seems a bit too anatomical / sciencey for me! any recs appreciated, thankssss xxx [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Jun 2020 08:17 PM PDT My hips are killing me. I juggled a soccer ball my whole park field length. Man oh man so much shoulder, hip action in soccer. I want to continue my soccer, workouts, and yoga. Also, yoga seems like a workout at times. What makes me angry is using it during practice. Why couldn't I wait to use after for recovery? I'm so disappointed in myself yogis. I know I can control usage. I'm like the only one who posts things about cannabis here. I apologize as well. I've just been through a lot and I'll bet we all have stories to tell. Plus!!! I mean I been doing awesome believing in my goals and control of life even if my family trolls me at times. Posted: 17 Jun 2020 01:49 PM PDT Im still new to yoga, only been committed for a few months, and I am interested in learning about the cultural and spiritual aspect of practice. Can anyone recommend some books, blogs, articles, videos, etc. that give insight into the spiritual/ cultural side? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Jun 2020 02:27 PM PDT Hi yogis! For awhile now I've been wanting to make a yoga mat cleaner at home, in many tutorials I see witch hazel is an ingredient, was wondering if I could sub this for white vinegar? Has anyone tried vinegar on their mat ? Just wondering if it'll clean the same [link] [comments] |
Biodegradable yoga mat in the sun? Posted: 17 Jun 2020 12:44 PM PDT I ordered a Jade Yoga mat a while ago, but didn't realize I couldn't use it in the sun :( Is there any way I can cover it so it won't break down in the direct sun? I was thinking of just wrapping it in a blanket.. but I'm not sure if that would make a difference? I'm going camping next week and only have this mat so hopefully there's a way to prevent damage. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! 💜 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 17 Jun 2020 07:40 AM PDT Hey peeps, I'm just starting through with Yoga and so far I'm hooked. My sister made a nice plan. Ardha Hanumanasana kills me every time. I do it every morning to energize my body and putting the mind in the moment, trying to live free of thoughts. I've been searching for a Yoga Mat in oversize. I am 2 meters tall and would like a mat that fits exactly, better would be even longer. Maybe 2,2m (like an oversized mattress) The width or thickness is not all that important, but I'm using a fitness mat right now, which is 1,83 I think, and that doesn't do the job. I'm getting lost in amazing offers, but don't find the one that convinces me. A tag of a post with the same question would be cool, as I couldn't find a similar question right now. Using it at home only. Any recommendation is highly appreciated. Namaste [link] [comments] |
How are you training / teaching yoga classes from home? Please help me out! Posted: 17 Jun 2020 01:03 PM PDT Hey fellow yoga enthusiasts! I'm doing research on how people have been keeping up with their fitness at home 🤸♀️🏠 during these tough times, what tools are being used, and (if anyone is a professional fitness instructor) how have they been teaching their classes virtually. PS: feel free to add insights in the comment section of what has worked best for you with regards to virtual yoga classes [link] [comments] |

Triangle poses and twists toward the left pinching blood vessels or nerves? Posted: 17 Jun 2020 11:29 AM PDT I started doing yoga earlier this year and I've been overall very satisfied with the results. However, there are very specific poses that make me afraid if I hold them something bad will happen. It's a weird feeling in my neck / back on my left side. Is this common at all? Anyone have this experience and know more about what it might be? Is it possible to pinch a blood vessel or something? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 17 Jun 2020 07:28 AM PDT Has anyone used them? I'm starting to really develop my home practice and wondered if a set would be useful. I've looked at the Workout Labs and the Yogaru ones, but neither company has posted anything on SM about the BLM movement. They seem to use exclusively white models, so I will not buy from them.
