Welcome to Form Check Friday! Here is the link to all previous Form Check Fridays

Please post a photo or video of the stretch you'd like to be critiqued. Do include any specific questions you have about your form.

Your video or photo should be:

    • Oriented the correct way, we want to see the lines of your body
    • Be formatted such that there isn't unnecessary video of you preparing for the move (keep it short)
    • Have the important bits of the movement clearly visible (multiple angles is always useful)
    • Include the whole body

    Rules for critiquing form

    • Constructive criticism only
    • Feel free to point others to resources that address their form and/or questions if you aren't "qualified" to give them advice yourself

If your form is awesome, consider posting it in the Show Off Sunday thread!

    Tightness running through entire arm

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 11:08 PM PDT

Hey guys, I need a little help here, when I hold out my right arm to the side (approximately 45 degrees) and tilt my head to the left, I feel tightness throughout my entire arm all the way down to my forearms.

Has anyone else experienced this or know how should I fix this? This only happens on my right arm.

Trying to figure out what muscle I need to stretch

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 10:44 PM PDT

I have noticed that when I lift my leg up straight behind me I can lift my right leg completely straight behind me but with my left leg my upper thigh attached to my hips kind of turns outwards. It also just feels much tighter on the left side behind my knee as well when I do the leg lift. What muscles do I need to focus on and what are some good stretches to combat this? I have tried looking this up but I am not sure how to word it to get the results that I am looking for.

I got my feet to my head while actively balancing! I can put my feet to my forehead when I’m against a wall but trying to actively do that is difficult!

Where to start if I can't touch my toes but I want to do it please ?

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 07:22 AM PDT

Hi everyone, hope everything good for you.

I would like to touch my toes. I read "Starting to stretch", This toe touching routine (30 day challenge), I read all the FAQ chapter about the toes included, and the link called "Try this toe touch progression".

But I don't know where to start to touch my toes. If understand correctly these links are good to increase this flexibility. Maybe I didn't understand at all so can you please tell me the right way to do it ?

    Thanks

PS : excuse my english hope you understand me.

    How long?

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 08:39 AM PDT

Hey everyone, I'm re starting my flexibility journey this summer and was wondering how long do you think it would take to achieve full mobility/flexibility in these positions: - pike - side split - front split (both side obviously) - bridge - deep squat - pancake I know this varies from person to person but if someone could share their personal experience that would help me. I do a lot of acrobatic sports (Parkour and Tricking) and so have to stretch daily, as for my starting point I know that I have tight hamstrings and hips (my butt scoops under when I try to sit in an L)

Feeling out of breath during flexibility exercises.

    Posted: 02 Jul 2020 03:53 AM PDT

I do my flexibility exercises right after my workouts and I feel really nauseous and out of breath when doing said exercises. It always feels like I'm about to puke. Any help?
