Posted: 30 Jul 2020 05:57 AM PDT I have been practicing at home, mainly doing 30-40 minute Vinyasna sessions with Yoga with Adrienne. About 3 weeks ago i went to my first class after 3 years (a 1 hour hot power flow class) at the end of the second class i broke down crying and cried for 3 hours. Last night i did a Yin class and felt a bit down afterwards too.. has anyone else expirienced this? Is it my body releasing emotions that have been stored in it for some time? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Jul 2020 09:07 AM PDT I actually used to teach yoga but I fell out of yoga due to various reasons. I'm out of shape and need to get back in. Any good online programs out there that are relatively cheap and just provide daily classes? I don't want to have to scroll to find a class that's a sure fire way for me to just scroll instead of doing a class :) I'd really like to get back to my inversion practice so that's my long term goal. Thank you for any guidance [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Jul 2020 06:26 PM PDT So I have some nerve issues in my arms :(. Are there any good flows you all know of that wont put a lot of stress on my arms? I want to get my strength back in my core, back, and legs. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Jul 2020 07:26 PM PDT I just can't look at women and objectify them no more. I wouldn't say I would ban porn, but to the conservative's wet dream( pun intended) I'd come close to it. I find a less primitive society shouldn't have such a blatant and corrupt porn industry or anything at all. Of course do to human nature and lust we must comply for now. Best we can do is regulate it. I was a very pervy individual and I am transforming with yoga. Whatever makes the woman happy. So some women actually like being porn stars I guess. I need to know if its possible to find a balance to satisfy the carnal instinct that is sex whilst maintaining spiritual levels of high magnitude ? I don't see this as possible. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Jul 2020 04:34 AM PDT One unexpected side affect of yoga (and meditation too), I'm more aware of my body, specifically my hunger queues. Before at the slightest hint of hunger I'd eat, usually junk too. I'm finding more and more I've cut the junk but also not eating until I'm actually hungry. Even my portions are more reasonable. I didn't expect that! Feels better for it though :) [link] [comments] |
Iyengar Yoga practitioners/trainers in and around Tampa Bay area Posted: 30 Jul 2020 07:07 AM PDT Hello all, I've always been curious about trying Iyengar Yoga(maybe the idea that you can use chairs, blocks and ropes to support you and correct the posture got me intrigued). However with the entire covid thing, my plans got derailed. I am the kind of person who would not want my intro to Iyengar Yoga to be virtual. If you or anyone you know who practices Iyengar Yoga in Tampa Bay Area, would you kindly consider connecting me to them. I would also like to know if this would help my mother who is 61 and has chronic rheumatoid arthritis. She is in constant pain with regards to her knees, hips, wrists and shoulders. She already had hip replacement surgery and says that she cannot bend her knees and sit on the floor. I would really like for her to try Iyengar Yoga with me if that is a possibility. Note: I know this group usually does not do this, but no sarcastic comments please(especially against my mother or anyone for that matter of fact, we truly cannot understand or experience their pain). Thank you for being so patient with me and being so considerate. Stay safe and stay happy! [link] [comments] |

should i practice yoga to get really flexible for when i start martial arts training? Posted: 30 Jul 2020 09:20 AM PDT i wanna get really flexible for when i start training martial zrts after this whole lockdown situation. i heard people who practice yoga and gymnasts are really flexible. yoga does seem more up my alley because it is sort of meditative aswell. can you guys recommend a schedule of yoga exercised to get really flexible with every part of my body? Lacking connection with yoga, would love some advice Posted: 30 Jul 2020 09:16 AM PDT Hi everyone, I've practiced yoga here and there over the years but never felt what I wanted to feel during a session. I love yoga for the purpose of stretching and feeling more flexible, but I struggle to find the 'purpose' or that soul body mind connection that others feel. I'm unsure why because I'm quite a spiritual person, but I always focus on how certain poses hurt or are uncomfortable and that makes me not want to practice as much. I also dislike turning my head constantly to look at a video while I'm in a certain pose or other distractions around me. I can't seem to do it 'right', but I would really love to. I would appreciate any advice! [link] [comments] |
Are expensive mats worth the cost? Posted: 30 Jul 2020 03:03 AM PDT I've had a cheap nasty mat for a few years, honestly the range of options is dizzying. Are the £60-£100 mats any better than the imitation ones I see for £30 on amazon? I just want a nice mat, getting a headache lol [link] [comments] |
Posted: 30 Jul 2020 03:57 AM PDT Hey everyone, I'm Buddhist and have been wanting to learn yoga as a physical extension of my practice for years. I'm also blind, and wondering if anyone has suggestions on accessible resources for developing a practice? Thanks so much in advance. [link] [comments] |

Does anyone know a great app to learn yoga ? Posted: 30 Jul 2020 07:11 AM PDT Hi ! I've no experience with yoga but I want to start learning it by practicing at home 15min everyday. I don't have time nor money for taking yoga lesson so apps seems like a good option for now. I've already tried a few apps recommended in play store but it was either apps with too little explanation or you have to pay for most of the lessons. Does anyone knows a goods app ? Or maybe a YouTube channel ? Thanks ! [link] [comments] |
