| Posted: 15 Aug 2020 08:42 PM PDT M/15yo Ive seen many, many post of people who talk about their flexibility journey and their routine, and how their jobs or school has stiffened them up so they continued stretching and achieved splits, and whatnot. But I always look into these post and feel somewhat inspired to focus again and again, and then I always read in the thread something along the lines of: "So were you always this way?" Or "What's your flexibility history" And the response is always something like "Well I was a gymnast when I was 7" or something along the lines of 'I've been flexible, but needed to reach that level again' and then I just feel uninspired again. How true is it that 'anyone can be flexible' because I've never really seen anything about people that weren't ever flexible to begin with achieving these goals. Because it's a dream of mine to be really flexible for things like martial arts, etc, but I just don't see it happening. I'm currently attempting to get into the rhythm of stretching routinely again. I would say my 'feats' as of right now are being able to touch my toes with enough stretch, I can pick my leg up pretty high actually, but only when kicking fast, not flexible enough to hold it there at all, I'd like to be flexible enough to hold my legs in a standing split one day. | Can’t keep my heels on the floor whilst squatting, is this a serious problem? Posted: 15 Aug 2020 04:01 PM PDT I struggled squatting with my heels down and thought it was maybe just because I'm a beginner. But I've actually just realised my left foot physically cannot flatten down properly. I've been walking kinda tip toed on it for a while and I've just realised. Is this a serious problem / how can I fix this? I just tried standing up straight on my left foot only and it feels very tight and sore to keep my heel down with my leg straight. I'm so confused how this has happened and I've only now realised it. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 15 Aug 2020 02:03 PM PDT Hi Y'all I having some difficulty with childs pose. I cannot get my butt to touch my toes. The gap between my butt and feet is about 2 inches. Any suggestions on how I can close the two inches? I am not sure if I need to work on my shoulders or on my hips. TIA [link] [comments] | ||
| What muscles should I stretch specifically to improve vertical jump Posted: 15 Aug 2020 01:37 PM PDT I'm 5ft11 and at least 3 inches away from being able to bend down and touch my toes. I can squat around 200 pounds easily enough and deadlift around 270 for reps (only recently started working on my legs in the gym). I know that my flexibility is holding me back but what specific muscles should I stretch in order to improve vertical jump? I plan on stretching before and after every workout I do. So around 8 stretching sessions per week lasting roughly 15 mins each to start with. [link] [comments] | ||
| Couch stretch yoga block front or back leg? Posted: 15 Aug 2020 04:20 PM PDT I want to make couch stretch against the wall with a PPT a bit more advanced. If I put the back leg on the yoga block will it be better or the front leg. Also, any other stretches like couch I am happy to hear about if out there. Anything that puts me in a ppt getting the most stretch out of flexors. [link] [comments] | ||
