i wonder if it is poosible to achieve something like the photo, which you swing your leg up towards the sky into a vertical line when standing. this is a very active pose. Can i achieve this without any ballet training . currently i can just do a L shape or slightly above the L shape.... i practise yoga.

Not the forward fold kind of standing split i'm taliking about. this seems a lot harder than that one.

    Regression in splits training

    Posted: 22 Aug 2020 04:39 PM PDT

    Hello,

I've been stretching for about 6 months with the goal to get my splits. At first I was doing slow but steady progress and coming closer to the floor around mid july, but over the last month I feel like I've gone backwards. I'm so tight I feel like I'm back to where I was 6 months ago. The more I try to "fix it", by changing my stretching routine, changing how often I stretch etc, the worse and the tighter it gets.

I don't know how to "fix"/stop this regression and go back to a slow and steady progress.

At the moment I stretch more or less 5 days a week, I take a rest day or two when I need it. Any experience, idea, or input would be welcome!

    Thanks!

    Shin splints/tight calves

    Posted: 22 Aug 2020 09:04 AM PDT

Hi, I'm a highschool basketball player who workouts consistently at a pretty high intensity twice daily. I've had some major issues with shin splints in the past before I started this workout regiment and had to take a month off of all physical activity for about a month and had to do physical therapy. They gave me stretches to loosen my calves at physical therapy that I still practice about twice a day along with using a massage gun on my calves. My calves still get tight and I'm wondering if anyone has good stretches?
