Ashtanga yoga: Mats that won't get my feet stuck jumping through? |
| Mats that won't get my feet stuck jumping through? Posted: 12 Sep 2020 02:47 PM PDT Hi all, I'm excited to have found this subredit! I've been doing yoga about 5 years, with some irregular Ashtanga here and there. I've been doing it daily lately, and use blocks to help me jump through. My problem is my Manduka (unsure the model but I think Pro - it was given to me) is not wide, so the blocks keep end up half on half off the mat. So I'm looking at a new mat, one that is wider and longer. Ashtanga or not, as long as I can remember, I have found myself off the mat in every direction, so longer and wider would be awesome. (I'm a 5'10" dude). The Liforme mats look great, and I don't mind spending more. My concern is...feet getting stuck jumping through! It will be a while before I'm clearing the mat jumping through. I may just need to get two mats, one that lets my feet slide through, and another that's super sticky. (This Manduka is so-so sticky.) Does anyone have suggestions for a wide, sticky but not too sticky mat or towel combo suggestions? I've seen a few here mention "rugs" which is the first I've heard that - is just referring to a towel? I've got a Yoga Rat mat towel I've used in hot yoga, but it often gets scrunched up and slippery, so I might need a better one if at all. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
