    Hamstring flexibility do and don’t!

I feel a sharp pull back in my quads while doing splits. Whenever i try to lift my legs 90° in front of me, it is extremely difficult since i experience a sharp pain(just like i am about to get a cramp) in my frontal thighs. Same reason i am not even able to do an L sit. Any fix for it?

    Middle splits

    Posted: 04 Nov 2020 05:34 PM PST

Hey guys, so I had a question about middle splits. I'm currently working on mine and I did see progress but I mainly feel it in the inner hip region area. Like, usually people complain from outer hip pain (a lot of posts are on it) but I haven't seen a post talk about inner hip pain. Does anyone have any advice please?

Pinching in hips when sitting or moving legs "up" and/or "out"

    Posted: 04 Nov 2020 04:56 AM PST

    Hey /r/flexibility,

I'm trying to figure out the cause of a pinching sensation I feel in my hips/upper thighs when I do certain movements, especially sitting on the ground with my knees up near my chest. It seems to be connected to trying to completely "fold" or hinge at the hips, but I can't recreate the sensation with any standing stretches. My mobility is pretty limited in my hips/lower back/hamstring, which I'm trying to work on.

It most consistently happens when I'm doing things in sitting or squatting positions. Sometimes it would turn into a cramp while I was doing work in attics. (Crawling around on beams.)

I don't know much about anatomy, but looking at diagrams, if I had to guess I'm feeling the pinch in my Iliacus or Pectineus comparing here?

Any thoughts on what might be happening, or suggestions for things to work on?
