By thoughts I mean specifically, chatter in the skull, Perpetual and compulsive repetition of words, Of reckoning and calculating . I'm not saying that thinking is bad Like everything else, It's useful in moderation A good servant, but a bad master And all so called civilized peoples Have increasingly become crazy and self destructive Because, through excessive thinking The have lost touch with reality. That's to say We confuse signs With the real world. This is the beginning of meditation

If the true nature of reality is eternal bliss, then why even after so many of years of life on planet earth, it is easy for the human mind to stray into negative feelings like anxiety and fear, rather than the so called natural state of eternal bliss ? Shouldn't the natural state be a easy one ?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 06:22 AM PST

I have been struggling with anxiety almost my whole life and I am trying to overcome it by meditation and just trying to change the general outlook towards life. Sometimes I feel like the meditation is helping(on lazy days when theres not much to do), sometimes I am anxious no matter whatever I do to calm myself. Even on days where I feel calm and happy, I feel the anxiety and panic feeling is just around the corner waiting to creep into me.

So it made me think - why is it so damn hard to naturally be happy and relaxed, and why does it feel like such hard work to get that true nature of reality of eternal bliss ? I mean if its really the true nature, then shouldn't it be easy even with the slightest effort ?

We disconnect as a means to cope. Feeling lost often results when too much time is spent disconnected.

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 06:41 PM PST

It's been a hard year for many. The mechanisms we use to cope happen automatically. Applying methods to reconnect like meditation are important. Without our connection, things will change, but we will not prosper.

Believe that you are beautiful and have what it takes to move mountains, and you’ll move mountains. Don’t allow yourself to be let down by what others say. Get up and do what you can do best. Good morning.

This is your second reminder from me again to take 30 seconds off your day and focus on your breath wether you’re standing , at work , driving at home 30 seconds is all it takes to clear up your head for a bit. much love beautiful people

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 02:46 PM PST

Remember to thank yourself and appreciate yourself for doing this. Don't thank me 😅

To also clarify while driving meaning don't drive on auto pilot (on your phone ,etc) actually paying attention to your surroundings. While also pay attention to your driving, the whole purpose of this mini exercise is to bring you into the present moment.

    4-7-8 breathing

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 09:01 PM PST

Hi, any tips/advice on how to get good at this type of breathing? I hear it's the best for snapping out of a rabbit hole and in general relaxing. Although when I try I find it difficult to hold my breath and then exhale what little air inhaled from my nose in 4 seconds...

You are the eternal Knowing, just rest as that.

    Posted: 21 Dec 2020 01:54 AM PST

Everything that you experience Is known. All thoughts, feelings and sensations are known, can you see? By what are they known?

Can you see that you are this knowing clearly? Not knowing that you are the knowing is the only cause of all trouble, problems and suffering. Every single problem is simply derived from not knowing who we are and when we ignore our true nature, suffering has to happen. We have to suffer in order to see that something is not correct. We have to suffer in order to see that we are not this individual sence of "Me" - ego that is completely sepperate from Life, that's a total dream.

Can you see that you are the knowing of all confussions, expectation, prejudices, judgments, opinions and beliefs? Can you see that all of theese are mere thoughts that you know? You are even the knower of knowledge itself, therefore intelectual knowledge will never satisfy you, because that's just an endless Labyrint that you are Aware of.

If you are deeply identified with your mind, there is no way you can read or understand theese words and therefore will discard and try to avoid this truth as much as possible. Why? Simply because you (as a person in this case) don't want to feel threatened under the investigation that this person is not real.

What is this sence of a person exactly, let's make it clear. It's simply identifying as this body/mind entity. It's simply claiming that this is me and that is the other (Life and all its surroundings including other Beings). It's simply believing that we are not life itself. It's just this sence of an uncomfortable, unstable sence of this is "me" and I like this/I don't like that/I want this/I don't want that. It can even come up as in most cases does as a spiritual seeker that wants to be enlightened. Can you see, that all of this is just an illusion that you are Aware of, therefore it has nothing to do with you.

The moment you can see that you are not the "I" thought that is combined with many other thoughts and that creates an impression of what we are and what life is, that very moment a space of knowing opens up and a life of freedom starts.

You are the space in which the idea of yourself and life appears, but the space that you are doesn't appear nor dissapear, doesn't come nor go. It simply Is. Allow all the resistance to melt in this Isnes and be free. Value, this space, it is your only stability in life. It's your most precious treasure and refuge from all problems. Fall in Love with it. It is love itself.

To sum up, the most beautiful statement just like Ramana Maharshi said "Be as you are". That's all. Don't believe in what you are not and relax in what you are.

Thank you for reading and evolving in Consciousness. This is the most important thing you can do for yourself and this world.

    Love you. 🙏 😍 ❤️ Namaste.

    "Inner body" meditation?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 06:06 PM PST

Anyone who listens to Eckhart Tolle has probably heard him use this term multiple times. Have you found it helpful?

I'm someone who can have a lot of anxiety, so it really helps to just feel what I feel and be connected to my body when I'm so used to heavily dissociating and being in my head. I don't just do this during formal meditation but throughout the day. It's very grounding and the foundation for my practice. I find I am a lot less carried away by thoughts when I put a lot of attention towards my body.

Tried the Wim Hof breathing method

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 06:23 PM PST

I tried this technique out for the first time today and I'm hooked. I've done 3 sessions today, however is it safe? I feel like I get high like similar to how a nitrous high feels and I'm wondering if I'm doing it right or am I killing my brain? Lol

    Everything feels like ego

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 06:38 AM PST

Whenever I act in a way that might be perceived as ego-less, it always feels like it comes from a place of ego, as if I'm "so great" for having acted that way. And even that observation, which I've had quite a lot, feels like ego as if I'm "so special" for having figured that out. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? How do you stop identifying as "someone spiritual"?

What is the difference between letting a thought go and suppressing it?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 09:29 AM PST

Hi friends! I've begun to wonder this as I try to incorporate more mindfulness in my life. Sometimes while I'm meditating or during other activities, I find when another thought comes I'll say "no, focus on your breath" or I'll try to "let the thought go" but then sometimes it feels like I'm suppressing those thoughts instead. How do you know the difference?

    Groups?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 09:49 PM PST

Are there groups using Zoom or even phone to meditate together? I'm thinking of a weekly session or retreat. The other thing is I don't really have a lot of cash to spare right now to do this so inexpensive or free suggestions are welcomed. I'm open to a variety of approaches.

I meditate using a popular app for my own personal spiritual growth. I think what I am missing is a sense of interconnectedness with live human beings during Covid times.

    Transcendental meditation

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 09:47 PM PST

Been practicing mindfulness meditation daily for around 8 months now. Been enjoying it but I want to venture into other types of meditation, and transcendental meditation seems to be what I'm looking for. I can't find a lot on the internet outside of the TM website, so I was wondering how I could get started in my own home for free?

When you guys meditate via deep breathing for certain counts, do you typically say the counting in your mind?

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 09:06 PM PST

Sorry kind of a dumb question, and it can be either or, just curious what others do... do you literally in your mind go... 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (in) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (out)

    Coming back is tough sometimes

    Posted: 20 Dec 2020 02:44 PM PST

Anyone have an answer for this? I have certain sessions that are more intense than others (today happen to be one of them) and when I come back, it seems hard to cope with reality again. End up being more anxious than before I started kind of thing. Thoughts?
