Where to watch online for free Posted: 06 Dec 2020 08:01 PM PST Hey all, where are the places you watch and follow along with? Obviously YouTube bus massive and tonnes of content there... I prefer Kundalini Yoga mostly. But if I'm not doing that I'm cdoing Surya Kriya. I have to also admit, it's been a long time since I practiced, covid... Mental health... Finally getting back into things... [link] [comments] |
I may have shattered the cartilage inside my knee & I have been advised to rest. Posted: 06 Dec 2020 07:05 PM PST So, I have been advised to rest after potentially shattering the cartilage inside my knee. I am waiting to get in with another doctor to get an official diagnosis. The doctor told me not to do anything other than walking with my knee but with working from home I am going absolutely insane not being able to do anything. Are there any poses that anyone can think of that don't require the use of both of your legs? I will obviously not do something that could make my leg worse but I don't want to literally do nothing but sit on my couch & walk around in a leg brace. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Is it possible to do yoga all day? Posted: 06 Dec 2020 06:38 PM PST With eating and doing light stretches in between how far can the physical & mental aspect of yoga depthen by spreading it through +12 hours? Anyone have experience with this? It's possible so someone must've done it :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Dec 2020 06:19 PM PST Hi guys, Due to an old horse riding injury my lower back sort of locks up and I find it difficult to do a variety of yoga poses properly - basically anything where they say rise up vertebrae by vertebrae, my back decides to do the lower part in big chunk and then vertebrae by vertebrae. I can definitely feel now when I'm not doing the pose correctly. Once I'm warm it's better, I was thinking I'd go for a quick walk and then I might be lucky enough to get advice on a few stretches that would help? Also holey f*ck are my calves burning today during the balance exercises, is that normal? I've done a around 20 sessions this year and this is the first time I really found that reaction. Why is it so hard to find a mat? Posted: 06 Dec 2020 05:47 PM PST I want something that is first and foremost nontoxic to humans, with a secondary consideration being something that is minimally toxic to the environment. Yet it seems that there is incomplete information and shady practices even among the companies that manufacture allegedly eco-friendly and nontoxic mats. They'll say that they don't use certain chemicals, but won't tell you about the materials they use to replace those with. I don't mind spending more money on something that is legitimate, but somehow I haven't found anything. Help? [link] [comments] |
Seriously Struggling with Extended Triangle Pose And I Don't Know Why Posted: 06 Dec 2020 07:52 AM PST Edit: Ugh, I got the pose name wrong. What I really meant was Revolved Triangle Pose Hey all, I'm very new to yoga. I've been doing it now for about 2 months, 5 days a week for 20mins. I'm using yoga as a way to improve flexibility to prevent injury. The flexibility in my lower body and hips has increased a lot, it's really cool to be able to move my body in new, efficient ways. So yesterday I was doing yoga and a pose popped up in my flow that I have never done before: Revolved Triangle Pose. I love Triangle Pose and this extended variant LOOKS easy enough with some blocks. I can see my body doing this. But. I. Can't. Specially it's my upper body. Why can I stand up straight and have my arms stretched out, but when I'm in this pose, my arms are stuck 90deg apart (instead of the 180deg they should be)? The arm nearest the floor is fine, but the arm that's supposed to be reaching for the ceiling just cannot get past my ears?? I want to improve this, but I don't understand what's wrong :( Please help yogis! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 06 Dec 2020 12:03 AM PST Hello! I have been meaning to do headstand and am looking for tips that have been useful for you. I have been doing yoga and have tried headstand previously under someone s guidance. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Dec 2020 10:27 PM PST I was reading this about practicing Ashtanga yoga 6 days a week and i was wondering about it: "When you practice Ashtanga 6 days a week it can help prevent injury because your body becomes more accustomed to the movement and you become more aware of what your body can and cannot tolerate — which of course lends itself to progress in the poses." Because i believe that practicing almost every day can get you injures. Especially Ashtanga that is about 90-100 minutes long sequence. What do you think? [link] [comments] |
