Almost 12 months of progress - it's subtle, but just a reminder that sometimes your progress isn't so obviously visual ... feeling so much stronger! :)

Technical question: Structural difference between a flexible muscle and tight muscle?

    Posted: 13 Jan 2021 03:51 AM PST

What I was wondering is this: with strength training your fibers breakdown and your muscles get fatigued during training and then with recovery your body repairs it and it builds new fibers. What happens with flexibility? Both during training but also recovery. A lot of people talk about CNS but there's definitely more behind it. Thank you all!

Hip socket pain during frog stretch

    Posted: 12 Jan 2021 07:59 AM PST

Well the title says it all. When I do the frog stretch, I don't really feel a stretch at all. I can get pretty deep (not close to middle split territory, I could post a picture if it would be useful) and instead of feeling a pull in my muscles it feels like my femur is sort of stuck in the socket and I only feel it in the actual hip joint. That's not normal right?

I'm a rock climber so the hip stretch is the #1 stretch people recommend. Is there any way to modify the stretch or is there another stretch that could replace it for roughly the same results? In rock climbing you want to be able to use that frog position and get your hips as close as possible to the wall.
