What dumb things do you do which inadvertedly work your flexibility throughout the day?

I've gotten really into the habit of trying to switch lights off with my feet. It can be kind of tough trying to do it selectively when there's two switches. Also the (presumably common) one of using any elevated surface for a hamstring string when no-one's around.

    Feet turn out when walking/running.

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 04:08 AM PST

Feet turn out with almost everything I do. Even sitting naturally they want to point out.

I feel like this is the reason my running mechanics aren't as smooth as I'd like.

What would be weak. Or tight that I should work on?

    Thanks for any info.

How do I tell if I have tight or overstretched hamstrings?

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 01:40 AM PST

Is there a test for me to do to find out which one it is, I tore my acl last year which significantly weakened my quad, like my quad is visibly smaller side by side to my left leg but I also am recovering from surgery on the same legs ankle from breaking it, I'm pretty far along with crutches almost off of them, but basically idk if they are tight and I should stretch them or over stretched and I should strengthen my quads, my left leg is also really tight, about the same amount of tightness, thanks

    Side splits with coxa vara

    Posted: 03 Feb 2021 12:42 AM PST

Having recently been diagnosed (MRI) with coxa vara was a bummer. Did anyone still achieve full side splits even though having this condition (by rotating the hips/feet)?

Almost able to “kiss my knee!” ... also, thank goodness for these butterfly stickers, much quicker than organizing the room

I need help with middle splits!

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 10:37 PM PST

I've been trying to get my middle splits for months now and I don't have it yet. I've been stretching everyday but my hips are just not really flexible enough. Please leave some tips because I really want to get them. Thank you!

Why am I tight in frog pose but loose in butterfly?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 12:04 PM PST

Any variation of bringing my feet together and opening my hips, I have great range of motion with no pain. Whether it's butterfly where I can bring my knees to the floor or even laying back and bringing the feet together and knees out.

But when I go into frog pose or do a wall squat where my feet aren't together and they're out, my range of motion is really limited and it feels like my groin is about to tear. I can't find the exact muscle that's tight because it's deep in the tissue under the big abductors that protrude when you open up your hips.

Any ideas what muscle this might be and how to fix?

Tight muscles, with good ROM? Confused?

    Posted: 02 Feb 2021 02:58 PM PST

So, I have ridiculously tight muscles, which have the sensation of feeling tight. E.g, touching my feet with straight legs is fine. Yet my legs feel ridiculously tight? The ROM is fine and are average across the board?

Flexibility and stretching is the go to, but I feel as if I'm wasting time since I already have good ROM?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.
