Feet finally touch the floor in downward dog!

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 06:39 PM PST

Funny how things improve when you're not directly working on them. I haven't done downward dog in at least 2 months cause I've been mostly doing yin yoga and routines to work on front splits, handstand & headstand and I randomly took a breather in downward dog today and my feet touch the floor now :)

Passive middle splits VS Active middle splits They are both important but if you are trying to get the cool poses the active is what you need to train

    [SERIOUS] Hip adductors and sex?

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 07:13 AM PST

I've recently gone from having no sex at all to having a whole bunch of it. I'm a guy, and I'm generally on top more than on the bottom. I think I've noticed that my adductors are tighter than normal and a little extra soreness once I'm in the stretch after a day of spending a bunch of time in the sack. Google didn't give me a straight answer on whether your adductors are actually doing much work while laying pipe (it just hits you with a bunch of exercises to do to be better in bed lol). Apologies for the silly question, but I really wanted to know since by coincidence the days where I do my intense middle split training tend to come right after my extended trips to pound town. Am I just getting in my head here or is this a thing?

    Recommendations for online flex training

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 07:04 PM PST

I have amassed a catalog of over 150 youtube beginner flexibility classes, and have watched most of them over the past 5 months of daily flex sessions. These were all chosen as the most rudimentary pre-yoga classes I could find. My problem so far is that they all have assumptions about what "beginner" means, and it doesn't mean me. It's not only that I can't achieve the "full expression" of the poses, it's also that I am not even able to achieve the starting position for many of them. There is clearly some kind of disconnect about what beginning flexibility looks like. Can anyone recommend an online course or series of videos I can do at home that doesn't assume I am already more flexible than most? BTW, I am male, active, lean and healthy, and willing to pay for training that actually fits me. Thanks.

    How to do a split?

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 04:40 PM PST

Im a guy, 21. Reasonably fit but 0 prior experience flexibility wise. I've been inspired by Johnny Cage and am determined to get a split before the pandemic is over, I did some preliminary research and have been stretching for bout 2 weeks and i've gone from being able to touch my toes for a second before it starts to hurt to being able to hold that position, but I believe I've started to plateau and know I have to start pushing myself, but I don't want to rip or tear anything.

few questions: when touching your toes, I imagine you're never supposed to lock your knees, but how much bend should you give you knee?

when learning front splits should I start with my back knee on the ground or off the ground?

Exercise Ball Size do Wheel Pose

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 04:10 PM PST

Ello! I want to buy a large exercise ball to do back bends on. My intention is to stretch on it and for it to support my progression into wheel pose. (Make it easier so I'm not starting from the ground).

There are different size options like 55 cm and 65 cm, but I don't know what size is best. I'm 5'7". Any ideas?

    Painful hip flexor during backbends!

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 03:41 PM PST

Cannot pinpoint the exact day or moment it happened but it's been hurting me for about a month now- I took the entire month off of weight training to focus on contortion and some other injuries. Sometime in the interim it began to slowly bother me. Now I can hardly hold a bridge because of the pain. Any advice? Maybe bad form? Over stretching? Something else?

(Ive only been stretching deeply 2 or 3x a week and have been trying to take it easy)

Yoga blocks that can also be used for handstands

    Posted: 05 Mar 2021 12:45 PM PST

Does somebody have blocks that can be used for both handstands and stretching? In that case I'm curious about the dimensions and the material.

I'm asking this because for stretching I want larger and softer blocks, whereas for handstands optimally I'm looking for something harder and not to big to wrap my fingers around
