Gentle Upper Body Yoga. A perfect way to start, or maybe end, your day. But you can also do this one during your lunch break. Especially if you’re standing/ sitting a lot ‍♀️

Is it a bad if I'm sore ever day?

    Posted:

I'm sore every day because of 30-35 min long stretching sessions that I do on a daily basis.

Should I skip a day or two to help my muscles regenerate?

    Stretching for begginers

    Posted:

Hello flexible people, I'm in desperate need of knowledge. I have a major problem with stretching because I was training competitional powerlifting for two/three years and all that time I didn't stretch enough or didn't stretch at all. So, now I have tight lower body, tight hips, lower back problems - also tight as hell, even my neck started cracking everyday for a couple of months now.

How do I even start to stretch, how many times a week, my range of motion in almost every muscle in my body is just so bad... And also, when I stretch I feel immediate pain so idk should I feel pain or must I stretch so little that I just feel the stretch?

Please share your experience with your beginnings I would really appreciate any of your help! Thank you in advance.

Less ankle dorsiflexion when my knee is bent

Less ankle dorsiflexion when my knee is bent

Hi. When I am in a standing position my dorsiflexion is okay (around 10-12cm from the wall), but when I go into a squat position my dorsiflexion worsens by a significant amount (7-8cm from the wall). What is causing my dorsiflexion to decrease so much when my knee bends? It really effects my squat.

Bent knee (thigh parallel with floor), 7cm dorsiflexion

bent knee (foot is same position as below image, lost 2 fingers worth of dorsiflexion)

standing, knee not bent, 12cm dorsiflexion

How Does One Know Where There Physical Limit Is For Splits?

    Posted:

Or really for any other stretch/pose. I've come to terms that I'll never be a contortionist because I'm not double jointed. However I have been working on splits for many years and although I've seen improvement I've never been able to achieve. I'm wondering if there is a way you can tell if you'll only be able to go to a certain level. Something in your physiology/structure that inhibits you from reaching a certain pose. I'm one of the most inflexible people I know even though I do no less than 45 minutes per day of yoga/stretching alone.

Am I doing reverse kegels correctly?

    Posted:

Long story short, my penis is broken and based on anecdotal evidence (doctors don't know shit) online this exercise (along with other stretches) can be miraculous.

Problem is, I don't want to be doing the exercise wrong incase it makes my problem worse. There doesn't seem to be a clear step by step guide to doing these for some reason (when there is the steps are conflicting).

    Is this correct?

    1. Lay flat on my back with knees bent and feet on the floor
    2. Breath in
    3. Breath out + Contract muscles as if i'm trying to stop urinating
    4. Breathe in + push out as if i'm peeing / pooping

    Repeat 2-4.

Ideally should I be starting to breathing in/out at the same time I perform the step (e.g. contract muscles) and also finish breathing in/out when I finish the step?

Assumed this would be the right place to ask - appreciate any advice!

No progress after about a year of split stretching

    Posted:

For the past year, I've been working on my splits. This includes doing dynamic stretching during martial arts classes 1-3 times a week, and also spending long periods of time (15-45mins) lying on my back on my bed with my legs propped wide against a wall 1-3 times a week. I've been taking pictures of my progress and have seen no discernable improvement in my flexibility. I can spread my legs about 90 degrees from each other, but that's it. I've always been fairly inflexible and tend to get joint injuries easily, but it's odd that after I've seen no improvement after all this investment. Is there anything further I can do? I've also tried taking glucosamine (yes, I know it doesn't really work, but it was cheap so I tried anyway). Or is it possible that I've reached the limit of what my body can do?
