- [COMP] I'm proud of myself for getting this far with my forward fold so far (although there's a long way to go!) I've been trying to learn how to bend more from my hips and loose the invisible beach ball between my stomach and legs. Is it bad for me to be bending my back this much though?

Therefore, my understanding is that, I should struggle to hold the plank for any length of time correctly. However, it's my arms and shoulders that give way before my abs. In fact, I can't say that I've had any abs burn doing the plank. I wouldn't say my lower back gets sore/tired either though. My teacher says I have good form when I'm doing the plank but I feel I'm cheating in some way. I'm not convinced I'm engaging my core - is there any way to ascertain if I am or not? I am overweight, so my tummy isn't taught enough to visibly see what is going on. [link] [comments] |

Breathing was all messed up, cradled myself in child's pose. Was feeling cathartic until...nosebleed. Has anyone else experienced something similar? What are your go-to comfort poses? I'm a tad too scared to ask the instructor what entails in a class like that. Has anyone ever taken a class by that name? Was it more meditation based rather than Yoga based? Posted: 23 Apr 2021 11:22 PM PDT I'm a massage therapist and at the end of a long day the last thing I want to do is stand. But I love yoga and all it's benefits. So, I looked into restorative yoga and yin has not disappointed me. I'm enjoying Yoga with Kassandra for all my Yin needs, but if anyone has other yogis they'd suggest I'd love to try them out. It seems that maybe I'm so excited about the befits of holding poses for longer and more relaxed periods, that I can't shut up about it. So, here I am announcing to you all how much I LOVE yin yoga.
