Warrior 2 elbow creases positioning question

    Posted: 10 Apr 2021 12:40 PM PDT

When you extend hands in warrior 2, are elbow creases supposed to face upward or to the side? I have a bit of hyper mobility and in a natural way my elbow creases face upward even if my hand face down. That is a habit I have on how to position hands. I have been experimenting with pose and found that if elbow creases face to the side, this position feels more correct for my shoulder so it might be more correct anatomically. But which one is correct?

Getting back into yoga at 40 with a back injury

    Posted: 10 Apr 2021 09:29 AM PDT

I just hit my 40th birthday and have begun suffering from a back injury I got as a teenager in a car accident. It's bad enough that I have to do steroid injections a couple times a year just to remain mobile. I'm trying to get into yoga to improve core strength and flexibility. Are used to do yoga once a week as part of my workout routine but I have not done yoga in quite some time. I want to move slowly enough that I don't risk hurting myself, but I would also like to turn this in to my primary physical activity for exercise. Can anyone recommend a yoga training series that best fits my circumstances?

Tips for starting a yoga routine while depressed?

    Posted: 10 Apr 2021 02:29 PM PDT

At the moment I am in the middle of a depressive episode and I am having a hard time moving my body. Most days I will sit on the couch the entire day and only get up to go to the kitchen or the toilet. I do try to go outside for walks, but often this will seem way to scary and difficult for me. During past depressive episodes it has helped me to take classes in especially restorative yoga and (restorative) aerial yoga.

I do have all the materials that I would need to do yoga at home. However, the problem that I am facing is that I am severely lacking energy. Even if I try to do some sun salutations, I give up really quickly. It doesn't help that I am overweight either. Most of the videos that I find online are too difficult for me at this time. Due to my depression I get discouraged easily, so I don't want to force myself to do too much (tried that in the past, did not work out well).

I was wondering if you have any tips on how I can get started with yoga again right now. And do you know of any resources for easier, slower forms of yoga (YouTube channels or online classes that are taught in European timezones)?

    Thank you so much!

    Books on meditation

    Posted: 09 Apr 2021 08:05 PM PDT

    Hey everyone,

Does anyone have suggestions for books on meditation? Specifically looking for more occult aspects of concentration similar to the works of Swami Vivekananda.

    Thanks
