Ashtanga yoga: Extremely stiff in seated postures |
Extremely stiff in seated postures Posted: 26 May 2021 05:38 AM PDT Hi everyone! I've been doing ashtanga for 7 months now and even though I've progressed a lot I know realize I was always forward folding and collapsing into my lower back rather than hingeing from my hips. When doing seated postures now I just keep super straight back and hold around my knee, but because I am so stiff my body does more of a 100/110 degeee angle with the floor and have to keep my body up with my quads and hip flexors (which are very weak indeed). This makes the practice much harder but willing to put the work in. I was just wondering if this is the correct way and how to move forward from this. Thank you! [link] [comments] |
