Posted: 19 May 2021 03:17 PM PDT Take your time, there is no need to rush, who put the time limit on healing? Take all the precious time you have for your healing. If you are going through tough times I just want to hug you and support, you are doing good, you are doing enough, you are brave and everything is going to be alright. [link] [comments] |
Meditation is like watching a movie Posted: 19 May 2021 08:08 PM PDT You see a movie, you observe it, but you don't think you are the movie, and you recognize that it's only a happening appearing before you. Now, sometimes you'll get lost in your thoughts (the plot), but eventually you'll snap back and say "for a moment there I forgot this is a movie haha". [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 May 2021 11:48 PM PDT Ok hear me out... I'm sure some hardcore meditators and concerned with the title however what I have found, personally and from speaking with others, is that it can be too hard to start. One minute is so simple yet even that can be hard, but by incorporating a one minute meditation into your everyday life you are beginning the practice - both of meditating and creating a habit. So if you are feeling stuck and feel that you can never get started - scale back. Start with one minute a day for a month and grow from there :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 May 2021 08:30 PM PDT Hello I am a student in grad school at Cal Poly, SLO and am conducting a short survey on the correlation between meditation practice and the practice of cultivating generosity (dana). If anyone in this forum would be so kind as to fill out this short survey, it would be much appreciated. The survey is anonymous, confidential, and used for academic purposes only. Thank you! Posted: 19 May 2021 07:08 PM PDT Living is the reason that life is living Love is anonymous, selfless, giving Energy animates stones and hearts Identity wants to claim the parts But the sum is more than one can name Think too much and play the game Words are symbols, sound is sacred Thoughts are clothes, your soul is naked Skinny dip into the stream Gently, life is but a dream Wisdom cycles through my senses Learning of a timeless presence Pyramids and clams with pearls Blinking eyes and finger curls Made of stars, we are the world I learned this from a little girl 🌜🌝🌛 ❤️ [link] [comments] |
Next time you have terrible thing happen to you, do this. Posted: 19 May 2021 08:40 PM PDT "Next time you have terrible thing happen to you and someone says, "You choose your every experience", knock then unconscious. When they wake up again, ask them to thank you for actualizing their dream. And then insist that they forgve you before they have even healed their head wound. Then tell them, "Pain is an illusion just be aware of it, witness and you will come into the 'Power of Now'." Then remind them that there are no victims and that they just need to "turn around" the story of victimhood. When they try to get up, push them back down on the ground, and remind them "Everything you see and experience is refection of you." Tell them: "You must have had some issues that you needed to look at around violence. I gave you a gift. Be grateful." When they begin to get angry, remind from that anger and judgments are substantard emotions, and that there never anyone to blame. If this doesn't soften their edges, inform them that the ego in the enemy, and that the part of them that is perceiving this situation as unacceptable is merely misidentified. "You are trapped in the matrix, and seeing the world through that limited lens."" Tell them you are here to liberate them. And then steal their wallet and demand they give you their PIN number. So they can learn another valuable lesson about attachment and manifestation." — Jeff Brown from the book, Grounded Spirituality [link] [comments] |
[Advice] Seize the moment.. Here's how... Posted: 19 May 2021 10:39 PM PDT One fine day, it dawns on you that the cause of all your problems is that you think too much. You think and regret about the mistakes in your past, you think and worry about your future and you think and worry about your current situation and where you are in life when compared to your circle of friends. Repeat 3 times.. Deep breath in… and out. Breathe in … and out.. Breathe in … and out. Get back to your regular breathing pattern. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 May 2021 01:47 AM PDT I've been meditating daily for one whole month! It's the longest I've been, after an on and off whole year of meditation. I'm proud of myself, really! During this month, I had my first okay silent meditation, I had difficult ones too, but I kept at it. That's so cool! [link] [comments] |
What inner transitions did you go through as you progressed in your meditation journey? Posted: 19 May 2021 12:31 PM PDT Before I started meditating, I was anxious, pessimistic, and judgmental. I was also emotionally repressed, and appeared stoic or cold to most people. My inner voice was critical and judgmental. And I tried to solve or "remove" my emotions by rationalization. I was more or less blind to my emotional state. When I started meditating more and more, my inner voice became less critical and less judgmental. I also connected with my emotions more. But as a result of that, I find that I am very sensitive about everything. In the past, I dealt with other people's attacks by repressing my hurt. But now, I find that I am wounded so easily. The smallest insult can throw me into a spiral internally. So I was wondering, has anyone else passed through this stage of being very sensitive to everything? Did this phase / stage ever pass? What stages did you go through? [link] [comments] |
You don't need mantras, stupid chakras Posted: 19 May 2021 06:53 PM PDT you need no method, no authority. you need no guru. you don't have to shave your head, wear robes. don't afraid to befriend yourselves. be honest and face yourself. don't try to control/supress thought-feeling, controller is the controlled. don't be an app. worshipper, since there is no goal. there is no goal, but only being. don't wait for becoming. Posted: 19 May 2021 08:40 PM PDT While traveling to another country to start medical school, I was listening to a song I'd never heard by K. Flay, and she offered a unique perspective on fear and growth that really stuck out to me. At one point in the song she writes "the only thing to fear is never being scared". I found this to be an interesting contrast to the famous Roosevelt quote that the only thing to fear is fear itself. I find this perspective on fear to be a lot healthier because when we are afraid is when we are presented with our greatest opportunity for growth. Pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone is necessary for us to grow as individuals, and we don't have to act like we aren't afraid either. To be scared is to be human. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 19 May 2021 05:29 PM PDT Remember to not just be there only for yourself, but to also show each other the support we all need to get by. In all the others around us living with us, we can learn to recognize what we have learned by looking inside ourselves...! [link] [comments] |
I want to praise this community for its patience Posted: 19 May 2021 08:35 AM PDT You get a lot of sceptics, bullies and uninformed people asking the same questions or raising the same objections again and again and yet you all patiently give the same replies again and again. I really appreciate it. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 19 May 2021 09:19 AM PDT I've recently started meditating to air out my mental dung pile in hopes of getting a better grip on depression/anxiety, but i find when i successfully alleviate these symptoms even alittlebit i unmask this incredibly crushing feeling of nihilism. I was wondering if anyone has experienced this and come out the other side alive and well ?, and if you have id love some pointers on how to go about this, as its a pretty heavy burden to bear. Thanks in advance to anyone taking the time out of their day to read and/or answer. [link] [comments] |
How do I get past feeling awkward and vulnerable in social situations/yawning? Posted: 19 May 2021 03:40 PM PDT Hey guys, so I've been meditating 20 mins every morning and night for about 3 months now. It has helped me tremendously. I do have 2 questions and they are: I always find myself having to yawn, not being able to, then finally yawning after trying to relax and let it out- this is from energy work I assume, but what can I do to work through this? And: I always feel uncomfortable around people because I feel like I make them uncomfortable especially when I relax and use meditation techniques I've learned to ease anxiety. How do work with this ? Thank you :) and I hope y'all have an amazing night! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 May 2021 09:02 PM PDT Hi Everyone. I'm trying to get back in to meditation after a long hiatus as I am about to start a stressful job. I have a problem though that when I meditate I can feel my pulse going through my body (particularly in my ears) and it causes me to feel anxiety that counters the relaxed state of mind I'm trying to attain. Has anyone else ever dealt with this issue? I'd appreciate your advice. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 19 May 2021 08:10 PM PDT I have to switch antidepressants. I'm going from 50 mg of Zoloft that i've been taking for almost 2 years to 10 mg of Lexapro. I'm direct switching, so i'm not taking the zoloft tonight and i'm taking taking the lexapro tomorrow morning. I didn't have many side effects from the zoloft. Do you think direct switching is the right thing to do? Will I be at risk of serotonin syndrome or withdrawal? [link] [comments] |
