Posted: 25 Jun 2021 08:41 AM PDT So me and my grandpa are planning to do starting to stretch and we were wondering if we should document are process and if we should how? Like should we take a video of our first session and then another video every month to see our progress? Or are should we take pics of how far we can reach our toes and splits progress? How to work up to candlestick pose? Posted: 24 Jun 2021 11:27 PM PDT Hello! I attended my first fitness class tonight and it was one that focused on deep stretching. I am pretty out of shape & overweight right now, so I knew I wouldn't be able to do everything properly, but I really struggled with the candlestick pose. I could get my feet pointing straight up, perpendicular to the floor, but wasn't able to go too much further than that. I could point them slightly towards the wall behind me, but wasn't really able to get my hips/lower back off the floor. (I may have been able to with a lot of momentum, but didn't want to try that in front of people. Lol) This is what we did in class, just in case it's pose has different names or something like that. I am curious if there are good ways to "work up to it"? I searched online, but wasn't able to find much. Thank you! [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jun 2021 08:56 PM PDT I've been stretching for about 6 years, i got my left split in about a year and my right is always a few cm of the ground, wometimes i can get it aswell. But im making no progress on the middle splits, i stretch almost every day, and have for almost 6 years, and for every fay i stretch for the middle splits im further away the day after, can anyone give me some advice? I think my hips are misaligned, i have scoliosis and i stretched my left side way more then the right when i started because i didnt know better, could that be the issue? [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Jun 2021 05:24 PM PDT Hey guys so I have been watching video and reading article about PNF stretching and isometric stretching. So basically I had a few questions for anyone who has experience or knowledge of these. - So is PNF basically isometrics stretching but with multiple contract-relax phases? - I have read in Thomas Kurz book that he say isometric should come after strength training but how my schedule is I can only do it the day after. Is that okay as long as I warm up properly ? - how long would the rest between sets go for both these method ? - and for pnf and iso stretching the contract phase should be for 5-15 second and the relaxing should be for 20 seconds + right?
