Pranayama: Chest caving in during deep breath meditation |
Chest caving in during deep breath meditation Posted: 03 Jun 2021 07:33 AM PDT Does anyone else get the sensation that your lungs will collapse at the end of a long, deep exhale? I feel like once I reach that level of meditation, my fear kicks in and I have to reset my breathing. I've read that some people can hold this exhalation for several minutes! [link] [comments] |
Intense full upper body (mostly facial area) energy surge after deep inhale and breath hold Posted: 02 Jun 2021 07:05 PM PDT I experienced this just now and experienced it two or three times a few weeks ago, was wondering what the yogic explanation for it might be. Before these occurred I wasn't practicing any specific breathing exercises, and to be honest I really don't practice any specific exercises at any other time, but I am constantly aware of my breath throughout the day and make it a point to breathe deeply and consciously whenever I can. So this happened after I just spontaneously decided to experiment and hold my breath after taking a large inhale. I only seem to be able to replicate this while standing up. I haven't been able to reproduce this experience while sitting. It usually takes about 4-5 seconds before it happens. I start to feel lightheaded and soon after a very intense "vibrating energy" starts to activate in my upper body, and towards the end of the experience the sensation is mostly in my facial area. This only lasts for about 5-10 seconds before it subsides. Does this have anything to do with kundalini or is it some kind of health problem I might have? I'm very in shape and practice yoga and / or strength training daily and follow a mostly whole foods diet, aside from eating a small amount of junk food almost everyday (something I'm trying to give up slowly but surely). Any input would be appreciated, thanks [link] [comments] |
