can I do to many posture stretches? Posted: 23 Jul 2021 04:08 PM PDT I have been doing posture stretches for a while and nowI find my back allways hurts... I am guessing I should try to stop doing them for a couple days? Just go back to my normal stretch routine? Its spinal stretching where you putyour feet up on a chair lay backon the ground withyour arms out like a "T" [link] [comments]
Tired and agitated after stretching. Posted: 23 Jul 2021 06:15 AM PDT Everytime. I can't afford to lay down everytime after stretching, but I'm so exhausted and I kind of think my nervous system takes a hit everytime after I stretched. But I have to stretch. I'm chronically super tight over half of my life. Everything is tight. Even my wrists and ankles crack. Can't touch my toes. Can't put my feet anywhere near my face etc. It's a torture for many many years and I hair started stretching again. I tried to stretch a lot back in the days and it helps, but it still never got anywhere near good. Any advice for me? I tried strengthening, stretching , foam rolling , massage gun , massage tools. I have this since I'm 16 years old. [link] [comments]
Stretching is Uncomfortable: Hamstring Stretch is making me [17m] squirm? Posted: 23 Jul 2021 08:55 AM PDT Apologies for being on mobile. I am very very un-flexible. Everytime I get a physical the doctor tells mw how bad my flexibility is. I cannot touch my toes and its kinda sad. I am a thinner fella, sitting at 6'0 and 160 pounds. Anyways, that aside I can get to the problem now. I decided its time to start stretching daily because I want to avoid back pain in the future. After lots of research I believe most of my problem lies in my hamstrings and lower back. Great! I now have a focus for stretching. I start by doing some light stretched and I found this one on the internet. All you do is dit down in the floor with your legs stretched out straight in front of you, grab a towel and hold an end with each hand with the center of the towel against your feet. (The towels tight and meant to help you stretch your belly towards your legs.) When I start stretching I find that I can barely move my belly and legs together. Im basically a right angle, while others can essentially just touch their toes and hug there legs. I just cant bend like that? And when I try my lower back and glute area is so uncomfortable. Like stretching and pushing myself id just so uncomfortable. Does it get easier? Is this what's meant to happen? I always want to quit 5 seconds in because its so... uncomfortable? tl;dr hamstring stretch makes me absolutely squirmy and its not getting easier Edit: the stretch Im doing is called seat forward bend (number 5 on this website!) https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/stretches-for-lower-back-pain#5.-Seat-forward-bend [link] [comments]
Posted: 23 Jul 2021 08:51 AM PDT I just can't seem to find anything remotely close to a program for active flexibility. By this I mean the difference between being able to go into the splits with gravity, and being able to actively pull yourself into the splits instead. I've gotten very close to front and middle splits but I don't seem to be flexible in many other directions. my goal was always something akin to how a marital artist can pull their leg through every range of motion or how a gymnast can be strong at the end of their range of motion, contortionist might be a bit far as an example but something like that to a lesser extent is another example. Anyone currently doing or know of a routine to build towards this. [link] [comments] |
