- If I feel itchy during some poses and I must share this. I did a foreward fold with my hands under my feet and my whole neck and back stretched. - I am afraid for the future. As I ponder the truths many cannot fathom such as automation, I wonder how will those of us with certain jobs will fare when automation takes over. I saw a post on an app called down dog. An AI replaced the yoga instructor for the better. I am a old man worried much so

Man who sweats a lot here - is that a problem in your eyes? Posted: 01 Jul 2021 08:05 PM PDT I sweat like a dog during yoga class. Not even hot yoga. Just a regular Vinyasa flow. Not puddles. But my whole shirt is soaked. I am decent at yoga. I've done it in classes in over 20 U.S. states. Sometimes I notice that I meet a woman before class then after class she just ignores me. Is this due to excessive sweating? Thinking I should always wear a black shirt..... FYI:

Does anyone experience knee pain when in wheel? Posted: 01 Jul 2021 11:26 PM PDT Recently i have been attending plenty of classes that have encouraged us to go into wheel pose after bridge. I am pretty flexible and can easily get up into wheel, i was a dancer when i was younger so wheel isn't a hard pose for me, but after staying in it for a few breaths i notice pain in me knee. When it first happened i thought it was because i haven't done this pose in a while but as i frequently come into class and attempt this pose in my practice i continue to notice the pain. does this happen to any of you? do you know if it's something that will go away or is it a pose that i should stop doing doing in my practice. i'm 25 and feel great in every other sense it's just this one pose that i have issues with. How do you deal with the emotional releases after a yoga session? Posted: 01 Jul 2021 03:13 PM PDT Sometimes an hour yoga sesh has me feeling happy. Other times I cry when I get home. Other times I'm angry during and after the session. And other times I feel depressed the next day. Given I know different stretches stimulate different organs (and chakras) that hold different emotions, I realize this is normal. But how do you deal with it when the release happens the next day at work or something? I honestly limit my stretching/yoga to 4-5 days a week. I'd do more, but know I probably couldn't handle that intense and/or frequent of an emotional release (especially from those hip openers!). [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jul 2021 10:07 PM PDT Hey there lovely people , I have been trying yoga since last month. I mostly follow videos by Adrienne. It does help me relax but I still feel the muscle soreness. Im doing anything wrong? [link] [comments] |
Any success stories from complete struggle? Posted: 01 Jul 2021 09:41 PM PDT I'm ridiculously inflexible. I'm the most inflexible out of anyone I've ever seen in the studio. There was a time I was really getting into yoga consistently. But it's been a while and I went twice so far and I'm an absolute wreck. For some reason I have no muscular strength to lower myself from a plank. I can hardly raise my arms up and when I do I drop them quickly. I can't do stretches, I just do 2%. With weight lifting if you're weak at least you can do 2.5 lbs. But I can't even do the stretches to start opening up myself. I'm weird because I'm only 30 and under 170 lbs. I was so discouraged today I told myself I should never do yoga to no feel this bad. [link] [comments] |
What's your favorite style of yoga and why? Posted: 01 Jul 2021 09:59 AM PDT Hi everyone, I know this question has been asked before but it's always nice to get fresh perspectives. I was wondering what everyone's favorite style of yoga is and why you like it. I've tried many different styles of yoga and am always open to trying new styles (especially since so many studios now have online classes which makes it more accessible). Please feel free to share what your favorite yoga style is and what you like about it (or what your least favorite style of yoga is and why). I've been researching old posts and reading up on articles online but I thought it would be a fun discussion and that I might learn something new or discover a new style that I haven't heard about yet. Have a great Thurdsay and thanks in advance for any replies/input! [link] [comments] |

Does bikram still get money from studios that teach bikram yoga? Posted: 30 Jun 2021 11:12 PM PDT Hi all, sorry if this has been answered before but I've had a hard time finding a solid answer. I've read that studios had to pay him to use the trademark, but I'm wondering if that has changed since the allegations and most studios don't use his name anymore? I want to continue taking 'hot yoga' classes but I have a hard time supporting him. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
How to tell if another yogi is into you, or is just being a yogi? Posted: 01 Jul 2021 07:33 PM PDT Heyo, As a yogi myself, I find it relatively easy to hold prolonged eye contact with most people without looking away, and so I can find it particularly difficult to discern when a fellow yogi is just being friendly, or that our 45 minute long almost unbroken eye contact is friendly or not. How do y'all feel about this? [link] [comments] |
Confused How to Stay with a Self Practice Posted: 01 Jul 2021 09:55 AM PDT Despite going deeper into the spiritual study and practice of yoga, I continue to find difficulty in finding an asana practice I can feel confident in committing myself to and eventually teaching. Over the past 15 years, on and off, I've taken classes in Bikram, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Hatha, Kundalini. Now I'm learning more about the Ashtanga asana series and they seem intriguing. But when it comes to practicing on my own I am constantly questioning how effective or valuable is the series or asanas themselves. Part of my roadblock is coming from years of study as a student of kinesiology and physical therapy. I understand my skeptical/analytical brain needs to be subdued and is a natural process in beginning to commit to any practice. When I investigate deeper into the various schools of asana practice, I often find them tarnished in politics, scandal and fanaticism, which leaves me feeling more in question. I simply want to start a practice I can continue without feeling the effort will only take me so deep into the practice of the 8 limbs before I find yet another piece of conflicting instruction or a progression that seems too intense. I apologize if my thoughts aren't well described. I'm currently in a very hurried and stressful situation (selling two houses shortly after death of a my mother) and feel more than ever to commit to an asana practice. This issue continues to itch at me and I just had to get it out. I hope there are others here that can share their journey through the same issue(s) I am having. [link] [comments] |
Sore Achilles! Any good stretches Posted: 01 Jul 2021 02:25 AM PDT Managed to strain my achilles a little, doesnt bother me too much but I've found down dog to be quite painful, I can do a full class fine otherwise Any recommended or good stretches to help with recovery? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jul 2021 04:40 AM PDT I mean I sometimes start out with some tingling then it just fades away slowly. As I move around and try to find a good spot. Best poses for me are down dog, forward fold, lolasana, and a combination of updog and lolasana [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Jul 2021 08:06 AM PDT I feel the future may be either bright or dark. That down dog app though it reminds me of a yoga with Adrienne type. I miss the original;however, this down dog app. No one can replace Adrienne though. [link] [comments] |
