Is focusing on the heart a big part of yoga? Posted: 31 Jul 2021 08:58 AM PDT I have been focusing on my heart centre for a little while now and it feels very peaceful. I've seen it mentioned a few times in the context of yoga. Is focusing / opening the heart a big part of yoga? If so, why is the heart so specified instead of the other chakras? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jul 2021 04:44 PM PDT I'm almost 10 weeks postpartum and looking to get some serious core strength back. I haven't practiced in about a year. Does anyone have any resources for postpartum yoga? [link] [comments] |
Do you do side crow on one or two elbows? Posted: 31 Jul 2021 03:24 PM PDT I've always done it with hips resting on both elbows, but recently a teacher told me the hips should be on only one elbow. This one feels a lot harder! Curious which variation is most common? [link] [comments] |
I typed “yoga is life” into AI text generator and this is what came out: Posted: 30 Jul 2021 10:06 PM PDT Yoga is life. This is like taking a bath and drinking for the first time at this very moment. It's like you're about to wake up. It's like that bath or shower or bath so that's when you experience the feeling of being at peace, having a little peace of mind at the same time. We can be at peace with, say, having a glass of water or going to the beach. Even though we have this sensation of being at peace with our body and our feelings, it's not one of those feelings we feel around ourselves. It's also kind of at the same time, if we didn't feel this feeling, we wouldn't feel at all the same way. We would still feel peaceful, like our body doesn't feel like it's doing things, it's completely different with a watermelon." [link] [comments] |

Can someone help me get the right spelling for “Prakriti” and “perusha” in Sanskrit? Posted: 30 Jul 2021 11:49 PM PDT I want to get a tattoo in Sanskrit if either perusha or prakriti. I would really appreciate if someone can tell me the right spellings as these really reflect with me! Thanks so much 🙏🏽 [link] [comments] |
Online vinyasa recommendations? Posted: 31 Jul 2021 12:44 AM PDT I would love to hear what your favourite vinyasa / power / hatha online yoga sessions are. I have Alo Moves subscription but am happy to pay for something else / dive into YouTube. More specifically, I'm looking for: -intense / faster-paced initial vinyasas that don't take too long to get challenging (I love getting straight into it rather than spending first 15 mins going through Sun Salutation A) -focus on the spine - back and core strength, forward folds, backbends and especially twists -not too many (or none) 'visesa' poses - arm balances, inversions, float backs -deeper stretches and longer holds towards the end Overall, a class where you feel you've been challenged and sweated and stretched in a safe way, and feel exhausted and energised at the same time, and thus savasana is that much sweeter. Thank you in advance! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jul 2021 05:51 AM PDT So guys I'm gona keep it short time being a valuable commodity n' all.So I was a junkie, smoker etc. all around looser, last 4 months I turned my life around quit everything gradually, now I work out (cardio) and want to get into yoga but I don't want some chick who got a yoga certificate from some cheap school teaching me yoga on youtube. is there like a book or anything similar I can use? Edit: due to most of the viewers being offended by my so called S3Xist remarks I will clarify I have nothing against females and I find them equal to males, what I meant was... I just don't like teachers in general you know at least not the ones that pretend to be good teachers and most of these a$$holes do and part of the reason being that most of the people taking these yoga classes are women and I they act really bad towards men trying the class (talking from exp). so I apologize for my insensitive remarks [link] [comments] |
