Ashtanga yoga: Is focusing on the heart a big part of yoga? |
Is focusing on the heart a big part of yoga? Posted: 31 Jul 2021 09:27 AM PDT I have been focusing on my heart centre for a little while now and it feels very peaceful. I've seen it mentioned a few times in the context of yoga. Is focusing / opening the heart a big part of yoga? If so, why is the heart so specified instead of the other chakras? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 31 Jul 2021 12:53 PM PDT I have been practicing yoga, everyday, for a month now, 3-4 hours a day. The other day, I was getting into Janu Sirsasana, when I suddenly felt several ligaments (?) "slide under" my butt and around my hip, and come into place so that I could fold just perfectly. This happened around two days ago, maybe? I could barely believe it, it was unlike anything I've felt before. It was similar to the sensation to repositioning the hip, but with unprecedented release of tension, if that makes sense. Curious if anyone has any more info on this, I wasn't aware this could even happen. Edit: It felt like some fibers "rolled over", from the back to the side of the hip (the bent knee) into position. I almost think it made a sound that could be heard from the outside. No pain at all, all the contrary! [link] [comments] |
