Those who use DownDog, what's your routine? Posted: 05 Aug 2021 06:39 AM PDT I've been wondering what a "good" weekly routine is when choosing from all the different options. I'm quite new to regular yoga, so I'm not sure what longer term routines could look like at in-person classes. This is what I do at the moment. I don't use any boosts yet:
I'd love to hear what others do to find some inspiration :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Aug 2021 06:58 PM PDT I've been doing yoga since 2016 and am considering becoming a yoga instructor to share the benefits with others. Is it worth it or should I continue to be a practitioner only? The cost for the 200 hr training course is $2800-$3250. Is that average? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Aug 2021 08:57 PM PDT I want to get into yoga but I cannot afford a subscription to a gym at the moment (which I would prefer over solo practice, but, as stated already it's not affordable currently) what are my best alternatives? Any good apps that you guys use, or just general tips on learning solo???? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Aug 2021 12:26 PM PDT Hello dear yogis! I am trying to make reading a habit, and I though of reading yoga related books. Do you have any book to recommend to me? It could be in English, Spanish or Italian! Thanks 🧡 [link] [comments] |
WOW. Did not expect to find myself here. Posted: 05 Aug 2021 02:35 PM PDT "Yoga? No, No, No. No. Not doing that." "Just.... give it a try" I tried and I'm grateful I did. Thank you guys for having me. It's the catharsis for me. I need that recharge. One pod (https://apple.co/3irDyzj) that recently helped me better understand and remind me to stay with this habit talked about the intersection between holistic medicine and Yoga. Something I want to check out. What has been your guys experience with the intersection between holistic medicine and Yoga? [link] [comments] |
Pregnant and want to restart yoga Posted: 05 Aug 2021 01:04 AM PDT Hi bendies, Up until 10 months ago, I was a 4x a week rocket/vinyasa yogi. Then the second lockdown hit and my workload and mental health took their toll and once out of the loop I found it tough to get back on the mat. I'm still fit enough - a lot of walking, some running, swimming. I want to get back into it BUT I'm 8 weeks pregnant. Do I just start off gentle and stay that way for the foreseeable? I feel it's too early on for prenatal yoga. I know a teacher who has had kids, is it time for a private class? Any guidance or experience is appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Different Length arms and poses.. Posted: 05 Aug 2021 05:51 AM PDT So my left arm is probably about 1.5" shorter than my right primarily in the forearm. I'm trying to get more into yoga but it seems a lot of beginning poses heavily use the wrist. Just trying to see some suggestions from the community who does this regularly or if anyone has experience with this. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Aug 2021 07:50 AM PDT Hi all- just a quick one. Especially early on in my ashtanga practice, the first few jump backs seem to really hurt my big toe on one foot. I'm only a year or so into yoga, so yet to master the proper slow float jump back (guessing this will come in the next 5 years or so as I work on handstands, tucks etc.). Just wondering if anyone has any tips/suggestions, beyond the obvious don't jump back lol. Chris [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Aug 2021 05:44 AM PDT Hi friends! so lately I've been trying to come up with flows that fit my body more rather than forcing myself into poses that are uncomfortable just because it's the standard. I had some hip surgery growing up and it makes lunges on my right side really difficult, but I found out the other day that lizard pose is actually not bad. I'm wondering if people who know about what muscles are involved/rotations etc. could tell me if that's a good sub for lunges or if I should keep looking for a better substitute? also! just thinking of balance, would I want to substitute it on my left side as well (even though lunges feel really nice on my left side?) I appreciate any input or advice, thanks everyone! [link] [comments] |
Where can I find ADVANCED online classes? Posted: 05 Aug 2021 02:34 AM PDT I've tried many of the platforms like Gaia etc. and it's really hard to find truly advanced classes. Can anyone reccomend a platform which has this? Free or paid. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 05 Aug 2021 04:23 AM PDT I am taking a college yoga class on campus next semester. Should I prepare a change of clothes for my next class? [link] [comments] |
Best sports bra for yoga overall? Posted: 05 Aug 2021 07:30 AM PDT Hi! I'm new to yoga and am looking for the crowd favorite sports bras. Any recs? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 Aug 2021 11:33 PM PDT Oh I also am trying to strengthen my lower back support in general to prevent further injury, strengthen my upper body, fix a tight groin, and uneven hamstrings. I am new to the community from meeting a local shaman. Thank you 😁 [link] [comments] |
