Wheel from standing for the first time!

Sorry for my shocked face. I haven’t stretched in months because I have had a knee injury and I still do but it’s better. I would recommend stretching before doing something like this. (Don’t judge my non-pointed feet either)

    tight hamstrings where to start?

    Posted: 31 Mar 2020 09:27 PM PDT

    hi all!

I am a guy with very tight hamstrings. They always have been tight and I think pelvic tilt might be the reason.

Anyway, I want to work on stretching them but I can't even sit at 90 degrees. If i straight back try to touch my toes I would guess the angle is about 140-150 ish. This makes it hard to really even start.

Ideally I want to sit in position and work on these for long periods of time but as I can't even sit upright I can't.

I really want to get to 90 degrees. any suggestions?

Can I ask for some expertise?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2020 12:01 AM PDT

I am currently on the mend from a sports injury. I was put in a rocker boot and did not use a level-platform-thing for my other foot. Long story short, the imbalance affected my knees and hips blah blah

I am regaining mobility and walking with a normal gait (finally!) after 5 months!

I am trying to reestablish my once amazing flexibility but am having trouble with my ankles. How do you exercise for ankle flexibility?

Thank you, my friends! I hope you all stay safe through these interesting times.

    Stretches for getting center splits?

    Posted: 31 Mar 2020 10:23 AM PDT

I've mostly been laying against the wall and letting my legs fall by themselves but I want to speed things up. What are some other stretches that are good for those areas?

IS the middle splits possible for me (26m)?

    Posted: 31 Mar 2020 03:09 PM PDT

I am 26 going on 27 and have never done the splits nor have even come close. I have been working on my hamstring flexibility and can now touch my touch and get my palms on the ground when I'm very loose.

However, I have heard that because I never did the splits when I was younger I may get close but I will never fully get them?

    (Beginning) Flexibility for Safe Running

    Posted: 31 Mar 2020 10:28 AM PDT

Hello! I've recently taken up running again. In the past, I've usually found myself stopping after a few weeks or months both because of general business but also, more importantly, because of—mild not debilitating—pain in my legs and, perhaps more importantly, in my knees.

I've heard from various fitness instructors (and once from my doctor) that I have very tight hamstrings and quads, and in the past I generally have not been good about stretching when I work out. This time around, I'm trying to be much better about stretching, and have been following the beginners routine in the FAQ carefully.

Initially, I was doing at least part of the routine every day: just lower body MWF when I ran, and full body TuTh when I did not. Then, I read in the FAQ that probably I was stretching too much, and have reduced to just full body TuTh.

I'd like some help understanding where I'm falling along the spectrum from "stretching just enough to protect myself from injury" to "improving my flexibility" to "stretching too much and not giving my body enough time to recover." Typically, my runs are only a couple of miles, 20–30 min. For many people, I'm guessing that would not be in the range of overexertion, but I'm in OK shape at best at the moment.

Can someone list the Best stretches for lower body for the major muscles.

    Posted: 31 Mar 2020 12:38 PM PDT

    Title says it all if anyone can help me out;

Best stretches that I can implement for lower body to increase flexibility in the area.

Pretty much any runners or cyclists here throw in your best stretches and state the muscle it stretches, post either a name of the stretch or a little discription explaining how to do it.
