    Stretching on muscle relaxants?

    Posted: 17 Aug 2020 04:18 PM PDT

Hi, I'm pretty new to flexibility work here, but I couldn't find the info I'm looking for with the search function.

I have recently started working on my flexibility, and am very stiff still, but I can feel results. The issue is, I somehow injured my shoulder just over two months ago. It has not been getting better with gentle motion, ice, and anti-inflammatories. So, I had a remote appointment with my GP today. She had me come in for a steroid shot and has prescribed me some strong anti-inflammatory and a muscle relaxant that I will pick up tomorrow.

My question is, can I do other flexibility work as usual while on the relaxant? I worry that it may enable me to take stretches too deep before my body is ready and I may cause further injury. Has anyone encountered this? I appreciate all of you inspirational people! I'm learning so much from you!

Did the splits for too long

    Posted: 16 Aug 2020 07:52 PM PDT

I did my splits a few months ago with little stretching. Then I felt a pop in my leg, but it didn't hurt tho. I decided to get out of my splits. And whenever I go low on the butterfly stretch, stretch my front leg for my splits, or bend over my glutes hurt. I have no clue what I did, but I'm hoping someone has an idea what happened to that muscle.
