Ashtanga yoga: Strong tension headaches - can Ashtanga be the reason? |
Strong tension headaches - can Ashtanga be the reason? Posted: 26 Sep 2020 02:27 PM PDT Hi all, I've been practicing primary series for about 4 years, on and off. Last year I've been practicing 6 times a week at home. I always had some cracking between shoulder blades in forward fold, a lot of cracking in my neck and some little paint/discomfort just beneath my right shoulder blade. But I felt physically strong and these signs were not disturbing me much. I also did some strengthening crossfit once a week and had an IT job in front of the desk. Also, driving a lot (meaning again sitting!). And then one evening I collapsed with a super strong headaches, which literally never stopped for the next 5 months. I was laying in bed and had pain in my trapezius, neck muscles and headaches almost all the time. Physiotherapist said it is a result of long term stress, but I wonder could it be possibly caused by my ashtanga practice? Incorrect postures? As right now I am better and slowly wanting to begin practice again - won't it give me the same trouble? Thank you so much for any insight! [link] [comments] |
