Full Body Yoga Stretch For Tension Relief

    Posted: 17 Nov 2020 05:25 AM PST

Why is it important not to strain your breath when performing stretches? I.e. breathing too deep and/or too heavy, pushing too hard with you’re breath

I don't mean holding your breath I mean breathing in too hard.

Where is the line between taking a deep breath and breathing too hard that your straining?

    Thanks

    Some tips for a beginner?

    Posted: 17 Nov 2020 02:03 PM PST

Hi everyone, I've been ill for quite some time and I haven't left bed/chair for 2 years. Now I'm so stiff that I can't even touch my kneens while leaning forward. Can you please suggest me some beginner routines to perform and give me some tips, I'm totally lost here. Sadly can't afford a PT so I've to do my own research.

    Thanks

    Feet/ankle issues for practicing splits

    Posted: 17 Nov 2020 12:00 PM PST

I'm using a stretching guide for getting front splits and it's been going well. Now at the end of the routine I spend some time sliding into splits as far as I can go. In the past days I've made a lot of progress but now, quite a bit before I reach that level of discomfort that is still totally fine, my front foot hurts. It's on the top of the foot that is in front of me and happens with both and has been forcing me out of the stretch.

Is this common? Is there something I can do for it? I have long term feet/ankle issues (high % tears in ligaments and tendons on the left, sub chronic tendonitis in both, old achilles issues, the list goes on). I tried searching for anything related to this but came up with nothing. Maybe I need to work on foot/ankle strengthening/flexibility?
