Looking for follow along stretching videos recommended

    Posted: 10 Dec 2020 04:18 AM PST

Hello, I used to stretch everyday then stopped now I am back ( not every day yet) I like videos with follow along ( tons of them), with calm voice, explaining and showing.

My focus is pancake, middle and front splits but I know I need to stretch every part of my body.

I feel myself as I intermediate since I am used to stretch and not beciase I jave huge flexibility ( I can touch palms on the floor)

So I am looking for follow along videos. Any recommendations? Could be paid or free.

Usually I like the kit laughlin ( but he doesn't have that much), tom merrick, adison briana, saturno movement, emmet louis ( he doest not have follow along), david procyshyn ( he specifically doesn't have much videos), five parks, sean vigue( i have hard laughs with him)

These names could help others looking for good names to stretch as well. As myself to revisit all of them.

If anyone is interested I could share the ones I like most.

Anyone else get a burning pain on the inside of their front thigh during a low lunge quad stretch? After googling and trying different stretches I can’t seem to pinpoint the issue but happens each time I do this stretch. Any tips welcome!

    Small talk

    Posted: 09 Dec 2020 05:00 PM PST

I was born with more flexibility than muscle in my body. Just slightly more flexibility, not the crazy bendy kind of way. Leveraging on this advantage, I have always loved to do more stretches, not nothing on proper course or training. Scrolling through this sub reddit, I have realized been missing the active flexibility training for all these years. I will add those to my routines, I will need some bit of muscles after all. Thank you all for the sharing.

    Measuring shoulder flexibility

    Posted: 09 Dec 2020 12:37 PM PST

I recently got back my full front split which was obviously exciting.

I love the idea of backbends but I am limited as to when I can practice due to a chronic headache condition. Sometimes I am fine, but if I already have a headache it just makes it worse. This just means I don't include many backbends in my daily routine, but practice when I can.

I am capable of doing a yoga wheel, but my weakness is my shoulders - I look more like a crab with bent elbows. I always mean to practice more, but I manage for a few weeks and then give up not really seeing any progress.

I loved splits because you can easily see your progress and have something to work towards, but I don't have a good way of measuring my shoulder flexibility. My biggest issue is reaching over my shoulder - I know I am miles away from my foot - my arm just doesn't bend that way.

Does anyone have an idea of a position that I can use as a benchmark or target? Ideally one that doesn't involve my head being upside down?

I was inspired by a more recently that involves placing both arms on the wall in front of you and bending forward, trying to keep your arms flat on the wall. This might be my best option, but I was looking for other ideas.

I have also tried the one where you hold a strap and bring it forward and backwards over your shoulders, but it feels horribly like my shoulders are being pulled out of my sockets and I got a bit nervous about doing it.

Thanks, I hope that at least makes sense.

How long should it take to achieve the front splits from here?

    How to find flexibility coach

    Posted: 09 Dec 2020 06:52 AM PST

Hi! I'm interested in a flexibility coach! Been improving slightly on my flexibility and I think having a coach would be a great way to advance my skills. I also have issues with my SI joint and certain stretches cause it to "shift" which causes pain and stiffness until it's corrected by my PT. it's very frustrating. I can be pretty athletic - I workout and do pole dancing which never seems to mess it up - it's mostly happening now when I'm doing certain stretches. I think that seeing a coach will help improve my flexibility which will hopefully help w my core and SI joint problems. If you have any suggestion please let me know!!!!

This is embarrassing but....what exercises and stretches can improve my cowgirl/reverse cowgirl experience? My hips and knees tend to lock up after a few minutes.

    Posted: 08 Dec 2020 05:44 AM PST

My hips and knees tend to lock up after a short time in cowgirl and reverse cowgirl, sometimes with (and I googled an anatomy chart so please let me know if there is a layman's term for this) a cramp in the tensor fasciae latae on either side, and usually my lower back starts to ache about half an hour later. Not to mention burning quads and breathlessness (in the least cute way, lol).

Side note: I definitely have anterior pelvic tilt, which may contribute.
