Ashtanga yoga: Unable to get a teacher.

    Unable to get a teacher.

Hello all, I'm not being able to find a local Shala or any Ashtanga teacher where I live. Would practising from an online resource be helpful? If yes, what are some of the good sources?

I'm just starting to learn Ashtanga, and I'm pretty confused as to how to work towards each Asana, how to do you set up sequence to work towards an Asana, etc.

Any advice would be helpful. 🤗

If you can't get your arms through your lotus ...

Is the only modification for kukkutasana to do utpluthih?

My lotus is too tight (I'm taking a break from lotus for a little bit anyway) to get my arms through and I was looking for modifications for kukkutasana. I know some people said embracing the knees while the legs are crossed is good for garbha pindasana. I'm trying to figure out how to make that work once it's time for kukkutasana though. Especially since utpluthih is really hard for me without the legs in lotus (with the legs in lotus, it's fine). Would love some suggestions on the following:

    • Is the only modification for kukkutasana to do utpluthih?
    • Can you do kukkutasana with crossed legs?
    • Any tips for doing utpluthih with crossed legs?
